Bills reporter Allen Wilson remembered

A. Wilson

Longtime Buffalo News reporter and columnist Allen Wilson passed away Saturday after a battle with leukemia at the age of 49.

A beat reporter of the Buffalo Bills since 1999, Wilson made a lot fans in Buffalo and within the sports writing community.

We didn’t know Wilson personally, but remembrances in the Buffalo News by his colleagues Mark Gaughan and Jerry Sullivan give great picture of a man who lived a full life that ended too soon.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to Wilson’s family and friends.

Being from Rochester, Allen provided some great stuff from the dismal seasons of the Bills…he made it easier to keep supporting them too. A lot of people will miss you…best wishes to your family.

As a Lions fan missing the writing of Tom Kowalski, that is now two too many beat writers who have passed far too early. RIP

Allen Wilson consistently wrote excellent opinion pieces. He will be sorely missed, especially because of the severe drop-off in talent at the Buffalo news that is left behind in his absence.
