It would’ve been quite simple for the police to administer a GSR test (gun shot residue) to see if he had shot a weapon. If they didn’t do that, then they are complete hick clowns. I suggest this is all bs.

Actually they can suspend him due to a personal conduct policy everyone has agreed too, and being in the situation alone qualifies him for the discipline! I say fine him 2 games and let him play, id rather have him sit personally but as a business and a coach why not make him work for free!!! Its sad that if someone else does it that is just a slot on roster he will get fired and most likely wont get rehired! You have to punish him to set the tone on big names and the whole locker room!!!

Hahaha… leave it to Steeler fans to take this as an opportunity to cry about the persecution of Ben Rothelisburgerface.
The only way this is even kind of related is if there are witnesses, multiple college girls, some sort of helmet-less motorcycle chase and… if Ro followed the whole thing up – after being reprimanded by Goodell – with an unpunished public urination on a golf course.
Again… maybe we should wait until all the evidence is out on McClain before deciding his punishment… the real question is: While in Alabama, did he go golfing? There’s your lead, Detective Pitts!

This is the NFL as we know it. As I remember reading it, Ben was not charged this McClain was ARRESTED. There is a difference in more ways than one.

Arrested for attempted murder? You might want to attempt some fact checking. Even in alabama attempted murder is a felony and people don’t get released on a $2,000 bond.

Also, the last I checked teams aren’t allowed to suspend players for off the field issues. They can try, but the player can fight through the union. The nfl has to take action and they are doing the wise thing and waiting for all the facts to be revealed.

McClain did something stupid. That’s pretty commonplace in the NFL these days. Yes, starting players get treated differently then fringe players so it won’t be a shock if he starts. The Raiders are not acting differently than any other team. I think the NFL and the Raiders should impose a big fine on these payers because hitting them in the pocket is the only thing they understand. Most of these players are really young, really stupid and think they are above the law. They need to learn accountability, like the rest of the population.

Ben was accused twice within a short amount of time and probably did a pay out to keep the girls quiet and happy. This is McClain’s first sort of trouble where he has been accused of doing something plus the “victim” has 3 different stories on the matter so far. Also, I believe Ben’s actions happened in a time where the league had time to look over the facts and delay a decision until the games started. During a season, they can’t do much about it until they get their facts. Do the math, Stiller.

he was arrested for attempted murder. preliminary investigation=what mcclain says happened. this isnt like he got caught with a bag of weed. they can use any part of this story as grounds to suspend him until the whole story is unearthed. idk like firing a firearm not in self defense or at a range? or for that stupid ass smile after getting arrested. assuming he doesnt buy off the guy he shot at the truth will come quickly and you promptly cut his ass and take as much money from his contract as u possibly can. there is no other way to handle this situation and it can not be tolerated. the nfl shouldnt have to do a thing bc a respectable team should do the right thing and gladly leave his ass in bama.

It’s different in the NFL, where players have been suspended for just being accused of things that making the league look bad. Pretty sure armed robbery falls into this category….

So even though the allegations are indeed not substantiated, you – echoing the court of public opinion – want to see him punished for being in a bad situation?

Generally, one shows up to family funerals. McClain was at a family funeral in his hometown, the same place where his vehicle was shot at only several months ago.

Thus, it’s hard to blame him for being ‘in that situation’ when the allegations are not necessarily true, and not really ‘fair’ to speculate on starter treatment at this stage in the investigation.
