A bad day for the Bears could be getting worse.

Running back Matt Forte is believed to have a torn MCL, according to Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Forte’s absence will depend on the degree of the injury. With a mild tear, the rope-like MCL can heal on its own.

The injury came when Forte took a helmet to the knee from Chiefs linebacker Derrick Johnson. Forte had 12 yards on five carries before the injury, and he did not return.

The Bears generated only three points for the game. The second straight loss drops them to 7-5.
