When your team doesn’t win another game this season it will be Mike Martz’ fault? Ridiculous. His offense requires players to perform at an above average level. You have two or three players on offense capable of fulfilling those expectations. Your defense is old and slow. If the best thing you can say about Marinelli is that he’s been pretty good, that sucks. When Martz moves on, you’ll see his genius.

Kurt Warner would be back bagging groceries were it not for MM.

If you have a square peg and a round hole, it's not the peg's fault you keep hammering the hell out of it expecting it to fit. You find a new peg, or you you find a new hole.

As much as I think you-know-who in Denver is a joke, Fox made his offense work around his "QB's" strengths.

As far as Marinelli, come on. The Bears defense is among the best in the league. And it does it without committing stupid, undisciplined penalties. If you dont' find that "pretty good," you have to at least concede it doesn't "suck."

And actually, Kurt Warner would be bagging groceries if Trent Green didn't get hurt.

Why the loss? Lovie and the coaching staff allowed themselves to get outcoached. This game was a battle of opposing backup QBs and the Bears' coaches had a view on the backup role that contrasted with KC's coaches and was manifested on both sides of the ball.

Early in the 2nd quarter, the Bears' D went with an all-out blitz like they haven't all year long to try to force the young Palko to make a mistake.
They got themselves fooled as McCluster burned them on a gash to midfield. KC was not going to make their QB win the game. Their plan was to go with the short stuff all day long.

The home team took the view that they like guys eager to step up. Reality has to set in and Martz intended to have that out of his sight. Martz figures a guy with Hanie's swagger is the right kind of backup for his extraordinary scheme so he deferred to him. If a coach doesn't want to make the game "simple" for the backup (i.e. force him to go short like Palko), then the backup may make it simple for himself and that describes what Hanie has done who just can't hold back his romance for Knox.

I'm normally the nice guy when it comes to these QB controversies, but if you couldn't get it corrected against a team like the Chiefs at home then when does it get right? I say Josh McCown needs to be told, "You're up next."

Martz is the guy who calls empty-back sets with a suspect offensive line.

Martz is the guy who had to be sat down and told to run the ball more the past two years, and after which, the Bears unsurprisingly went on a winning streak.

Martz is the guy who put Roy Williams back on the field after yet another drop, which just happened to be the game-tying TD.

Martz's offense only worked when Cutler was doing things outside the Martz offense basics.

Mike Tice is the best offensive coach on that staff. Or at least the coach with the largest supply of duct tape.

And Marinelli has done a pretty good job the past two years as defensive coordinator. You can be a great coordinator but a bad coach.

Martz sucks. He is too stubborn and not that willing to adapt every year. Sure, he was ok at St.Louis. Im pretty sure that had more to do with Warner at the helm than it did with Martz. Warner is a stud and took a mediocre Arizona team to the super bowl(of course, dont forget about Larry). As a Lion's fan, I hope the bears have no personnel changes this off season.

Martz has got to be one of the all time most overated coaches.

Remember how desperate the Rams were to push Vermeil out the door after winning the super bowl because they didn't want to lose "the mad genius"?

Funny that the team was never anywhere near as good after Vermeil left.

Let's be honest here folks, Martz made a name off of the insane talents of one Kurtis Warner, Tori Holt, Issac Bruce, and Marshal Faulk.

Actually, Lovie... you won't be making the change.

In 3 weeks, Mike's contract expires and if he wants to come back, he'll let YOU know.

Even though he has gotten Cutler to do some good things this year, it required Martz to drastically modify his attack, and that's definitely not how Mike rolls. It doesn't help that he has very few weapons to work with.

Expect Martz to take his services to the college level or a pro team starting from scratch (Drafting a QB and building an offense with MJD in Jax?)
