ReutersDuring last night’s NBC SportsTalk, Saints running back Mark Ingram joined the show to discuss the prospects of his NFL team as the postseason approaches.
But since we had the 2009 Heisman winner on the phone and in light of the fact that every past Heisman winner has a vote and given that the 2011 Heisman will be awarded on Saturday night, Russ Thaler asked Mark a few questions about the ballot he cast.
We also gave Mark a chance to defend his alma mater’s inclusion in the BCS title game. He made a great case for it — and he sounds nearly as excited about Alabama’s return to the championship game as he would be if the Saints make it to the Super Bowl.

This kid is a stud, on any other team he’d be up for ROTY.. Very happy with him on my Saints.
i wonder if Ingram is voting for Richardson
Runs better each week and is picking up the blitz nicely.
As a Tide and Packer fan, I love this kid, and yet he will be hard to stop in the playoffs as he keeps getting healthy.
SEC is over rated, as was Ingram. Suh should have won the Heisman that year.
Saints depend on Sproles way more than Ingram
Tide fans couldn’t be more proud of Ingram. It will be great to see him on our sidelines again on Jan. 9.
