Antrel Rolle still has “no doubt” Giants will make the playoffs

Giants safety Antrel Rolle said after Sunday’s loss to the Packers that he’s sure the two teams will meet again in the playoffs. With more time to think about it, Rolle is even more confident that he’ll be playing in the postseason.

Rolle said in his weekly interview on WFAN that there’s “no doubt” the Giants will make the playoffs.

Of course, as Mike Garafolo of the Star-Ledger points out, that’s what Rolle always says: Including last year, when the Giants missed the playoffs.

So maybe Rolle isn’t the most accurate forecaster of the Giants’ chances, but he thinks the Giants showed their character by playing the Packers close on Sunday.

“If we go out there and we play with the intensity and emotion and passion we had this last Sunday, man,” Rolle said, “those teams [remaining on the schedule] are in trouble.”

For the Giants, everything comes down to Sunday night in Dallas. Lose to the Cowboys, and the NFC East is just about wrapped up — and a wild-card berth would be almost impossible for the Giants, too. But if the Giants beat the Cowboys, Rolle and his teammates will have plenty of reasons to be confident.

He’s right. He just didn’t say they’ll make it this year. I have no doubt the giants make the playoffs some day…….. This guy is a dope. Once the giants split with the cowgirls and then lose to the jets their season is over.

this dude also has trouble with the english language; probably why he said the same thing last year, he has limited capabilities.

    Just win baby!!!

  4. slowclyde86 says: Dec 7, 2011 8:27 AM

You’re right baldinger. He should say they have no chance and question why they should even bother taking the field. Seriously, he is saying exactly what he should say. They control their own fate. He may or may not be right, but he would be a “dope” to say anything else. Why be so flippantly judgmental?

  5. txxxchief says: Dec 7, 2011 8:39 AM

I think he really meant that they would meet the Packer again in the Super Bowl.

  6. supafinger says: Dec 7, 2011 8:40 AM

Well Antrel…. I still have “no doubt” that you are an idiot.

  7. bmcgrath2 says: Dec 7, 2011 8:40 AM

    Who is Antrel Rolle?

  8. RomosRibs says: Dec 7, 2011 8:52 AM

Well, I guess Rolle butter cash in on his chance to make some headway this weekend.

  9. cshearing says: Dec 7, 2011 8:54 AM

All I know is that the next couple of Giants-Cowboys games should be very exciting. I’ll be watching.

  10. fthrvic says: Dec 7, 2011 9:12 AM

Antrel Rolle came to that conclusion after scanning the Giants roster of players and finding his name on it.

  11. wiseguyny says: Dec 7, 2011 9:30 AM

You guys can hate all you want on Rolle. For all of his trash talking, the guy has played out of position the entire season and not complained.

So what that he says the Giants will make the playoffs. What do you want him to say? You guys are just hating on him.

  12. eaglesw00t says: Dec 7, 2011 9:30 AM

Does this guy ever stop talking?

I cant believe Coughlin hasnt put a gag order on this turd already. His mouth is going to get him in trouble.

baldingerspinky – Remind us all how your team the Eagles are doing and how many Super Bowl trophies they have won again? You Philly trolls are hysterical. There’s no bigger laughing stock in the NFL than the Eagles and you idiots still show up on every Giants post. Sad and pathetic – much like your city and your favorite team. Remember the ONLY fact you EVER need to know is that 11 Super Bowls have been won by the NFC East and absolutely none of them by the Eagles. BTW- how’s that $100 million dollar QB working out for you? Make sure you bring back that multi-million dollar “shut down” CB next year so our undrafted WR can burn him for another 3 TDs.

  14. 700levelvet says: Dec 7, 2011 9:43 AM

Does Antrel Rolle ever shut up?

  15. schmokes says: Dec 7, 2011 9:48 AM

Wait, they aren’t already in the playloffs? With the way Jacobs celebrated his td on Sunday, I thought he just won the superbowl.

  16. pigskinswag says: Dec 7, 2011 10:02 AM

He’s always got something to say. What ever happened to guys letting their PLAYING do the talking for them instead of their mouths?

  17. billymc75 says: Dec 7, 2011 10:09 AM

Giants cant play the Packers in the Super Bowl?

  18. dgforreal says: Dec 7, 2011 10:16 AM

He should take a page from No Doubt’s playbook and “Don’t speak”.

  19. plymkr88 says: Dec 7, 2011 10:21 AM

As a Cowboy fan the G-men scare me to death, they always seem to play their best against our suspect defense.

  20. jakek2 says: Dec 7, 2011 10:37 AM

No matter what happens this weekend, both of these teams will be 8-7 going into the final week. It will be like last year when Seattle snuck in when the rest of the field was set. One of these teams will likewise sneak in, be the 4 seed and beat whatever WC team they face at home. I’ve seen this movie one too many times.

  21. drexelvol says: Dec 7, 2011 10:50 AM

I guess it depends which giants team shows up in the last four games. The one that lost to the Eagles and Seattle, or the one that took the Packers to the very end?

  22. bigbluelou says: Dec 7, 2011 10:56 AM

The problem ain’t the offense. Eli has won 6 games on his own and could of had 8 (Seattle; San Fran) with no running game. Of the losses, Eagles, Green Bay and the Saints) all due to the defense. So that being said, the defense has to step up and get STOPS when needed.

  23. ditaksdika says: Dec 7, 2011 10:57 AM

    whats he supposed to say?

“we are gonna lose out and be playing golf in january?”

He gets paid millions to help his team get to the playoffs…and he’s not gonna say otherwise is he?

Imagine what the backlash would be if he said “we are sunk, no chance, lets just give up”

  24. freebird2011 says: Dec 7, 2011 11:06 AM

If both the Cowboys and Giants split, and both finish with a final record of 9-7, who wins the division?

  25. spytdi says: Dec 7, 2011 11:43 AM

Same record, same division record, I believe it goes to conference record

————————————————-if your correct the 8-8 Eagles will win the division. lol.

  27. greymares says: Dec 7, 2011 12:15 PM

east96thst. i’ll make a deal you stay off the Eagle posts and i’ll stay off the Giant posts. i bet you can’t do it.

  28. howley1 says: Dec 7, 2011 12:19 PM

3rd tiebreaker after head-to-head and division record is record vs. common opponents. Then it goes to conference record.

——————————————————they scored 10 pts against the Eagles
