Antrel Rolle still has “no doubt” Giants will make the playoffs

Giants safety Antrel Rolle said after Sunday’s loss to the Packers that he’s sure the two teams will meet again in the playoffs. With more time to think about it, Rolle is even more confident that he’ll be playing in the postseason.

Rolle said in his weekly interview on WFAN that there’s “no doubt” the Giants will make the playoffs.

Of course, as Mike Garafolo of the Star-Ledger points out, that’s what Rolle always says: Including last year, when the Giants missed the playoffs.

So maybe Rolle isn’t the most accurate forecaster of the Giants’ chances, but he thinks the Giants showed their character by playing the Packers close on Sunday.

“If we go out there and we play with the intensity and emotion and passion we had this last Sunday, man,” Rolle said, “those teams [remaining on the schedule] are in trouble.”

For the Giants, everything comes down to Sunday night in Dallas. Lose to the Cowboys, and the NFC East is just about wrapped up -- and a wild-card berth would be almost impossible for the Giants, too. But if the Giants beat the Cowboys, Rolle and his teammates will have plenty of reasons to be confident.
