Hue Jackson says the Raiders’ mental state is just fine

Hue Jackson AP

Hue Jackson doesn’t like the negativity surrounding his Raiders team after their ugly loss to the Dolphins.

He wants everyone to know the Raiders are still in first place (tied) and they will still make the playoffs.

“We lost one game. We had a three-game winning streak and no one was asking me about the mental state of the team then,” Jackson said via Jerry McDonald of the Oakland Tribune. “So why are we going to ask about it now? Here’s the deal. We need to get back to playing football, go win a game.”

What the Raiders really need is healthier players. Darren McFadden, Jacoby Ford, Denarius Moore, and Taiwan Jones all missed practice again Thursday and should miss Sunday’s game against the Packers.

“This team is 7-5 and still in first place in the AFC West,” Jackson said. “Obviously we share it with somebody now. That’s our doing. Everybody’s going to write and say what they want and pour dirt on us, but this team will be back.”

The question is whether the Raiders will still be in first place after this weekend. Odds are they won’t.

35 degrees of so in Green Bay on Sunday.

The only annoying thing is that he now doesn’t give an estimate of when the player will be back. People want to have an estimate even if it’s wrong. If you need to revise it, revise. They’ll then stop along everyday.

    I like the Raiders.
    I even like Hue.
But this weekend they will be cheesed.
    GO PACK GO!

They’ll still make the playoffs by winning-out after this weekend’s loss. Keep your heads up, Raider nation… your last 3 games will be a cake-walk with McFadden, Ford and Moore back in play.

sure everybody was talking trash about you guys!! i mean, you didn’t lose to GB on a close game, you lose to the dolphins on a big punch!

Hue is in denial, he is an idiot, he wouldn’t know a mental state from the state he lives in. Hue and the Raiders are frauds. Packers 45-17!

  11. rc33 says: Dec 9, 2011 12:34 PM

After the throttling they took at the hands of a 3 win team last Sunday?
And it really shouldn’t matter if Miami was “playing better” at the time.
One and done…if they even manage to get past Tebow.

  12. nicosanchez02 says: Dec 9, 2011 12:35 PM

Who cares, better question is whats the mental state, of the winless colts, their fan base and sucking for luck, now that’s just a shame?

  13. dtthomas6 says: Dec 9, 2011 12:36 PM

Don’t count out the Raiders this weekend. 9-7 will win this division!

Raiders will shock the NFL world and beat the Packers this weekend.

  15. channingtaintum says: Dec 9, 2011 12:38 PM

It may be over 30 degrees at kickoff, but about 15-20 degrees by halftime, hope the raiders packed extra snuggies!

  16. stevedubs11 says: Dec 9, 2011 12:41 PM

tebow and the broncos are going to the playoffs for sure. and hear me out, anyone else think they’re playing great football? the broncos I mean.

  17. orthodoxdj says: Dec 9, 2011 12:42 PM

Looking at the standings, I’d prefer the Raiders get in as the last wild card because that would mean they face Houston. If they win the division they’ll likely face Pittsburgh.

If Oakland were to face Houston and win, and if the top-seeded teams were to win, Oakland would go to New England. A rematch of the Snow Job would be nice.

That’s what being a Raider fan is all about. No support until we win and win and win. Back in 2002 I saw Raider Flags flying and shields everywhere. A lot of fans came out of the woodwork! since then its been a disappointment every season ! So it’s hard to pull out of that stigma. A true Raider fan knows that until we string along a few winning seasons together. We will not get respect we deserve.

Raiders are superbowl bound. Lead the way Hue I have faith

  22. radrntn says: Dec 9, 2011 12:57 PM

i agree with the odds don’t, but raider have been underdogs pretty much the past 8 years….so what..game gets played and if raiders show, and the ball bounces their way , and packers are flat, anything can happen……but we do need to get healthy to make any serious noise, and be consistent.

Raiders(faiders) well on their way to losing three straight…and the AFC WEST..book it….

  29. joetoronto says: Dec 9, 2011 1:38 PM

This just in, Ford and Moore are on the practice field right now, they’re going to give it a shot.

No sign of McFadden or Jones though.

  30. azpackerbacker says: Dec 9, 2011 2:42 PM

And here i was thinking this could be the game that tripped us up, as the Pack have a clunker each year to a team they should annialate. Not this Sunday. 13-0!!!!

  31. touchdownmypants says: Dec 9, 2011 3:10 PM

The Broncos will win the AFC west. They will be lucky to win the wildcard. The Raiders have GB, Detroit, AT KC which is a tough place to play, and the Chargers. Bronks have Chicago with no Cutler or Forte, NE at home which for some reason the Pats struggle in Denver, a depleting Bills team, and KC at home. I say raiders go 1-3 and Broncos go 2-2. From a biased Bronks fan tho.

  32. jakethegrift says: Dec 9, 2011 4:04 PM

The Raiders need to make a strong run these last few weeks we have left. We need to show a strong presence and show they are the bully of the division. We just need someone to beat the Broncahoes twice to create a convincing distance between us and them. It will be cold in Greenbay this Sunday, but if the same Packers defense that played both the Chargers and the Giants shows up on the 2nd half, as they did in those two previous games, I have hope for a better game from the Raiders. I am concerned about our injuries, but we will see how it goes. GO NATION!

  33. raideralex99 says: Dec 9, 2011 5:17 PM

    Seriously the media is pathetic.
A team wins or loses a game and they jump on or off the bandwagon every week.
Remember the worst starting QB before the season started was Dalton … he wins afew game … they praise him now.
Remember Tebow will never make it in the NFL … now they said the Broncos are going to roll the table … give me a break.
It’s a long season … teams go throught injuries, easy part of their schedule … the list goes on.
If there’s one thing you learn in the NFL it’s on any given Sunday anybody can beat anyone.

  34. joetoronto says: Dec 9, 2011 5:27 PM

Ford, Moore and Jones all all out again, along with McFadden.

    Bummer.

  35. raiders757 says: Dec 10, 2011 11:26 AM

The Raiders will be fine even if they lose to the Packers. The Donks are a flash in the pan that’s about to fizzle out. We all should have seen the Phins loss from a mile away, as they have matched up very well with the Raiders over the past few seasons. This just a bump in the road for now.
