I am not a fan of Goodell because the league under his watch is becoming the pansy league.
BUT for all you Goodell bashers out there, HE IS NOT THE ONE HANDING OUT FINES. The commisioner appoints a director of player personel and he notifies the player that they have been fines, the player then as a certain amount of time to appeal the fine to the commisioner.

Fans just don’t get it ……. All players have to do is not only know the rules but abide by the rules ….. Although the amount of each fine is nearly impossible to digest or understand, I agree with them ……

No need to allow the NFL to evolve into the NHL …… Or you can just check out MLB ……. The criminal element in baseball is not allowed on the field …… If it happens …… Stiff fines & suspensions ….. It works there …..

I’m a diehard lions fan, obviously, and I thought for sure pettigrew was gonna get booted, as the rules state you can’t touch an official. Apparently the official told the coaches that pettigrew thought the official was a saints player. I didn’t know officials were mind readers. But nonetheless he didn’t get the boot as he should have.

the ref came out after the game and said immedidatly he was a little in the wrong for putting his hands on pettigrew first. he also said pettigrew didnt have a clue it was him and tried to pull back his hand when he realized he was a ref and not a player….thats why he didnt eject him….thats probably why the fined him 25k for a first time offence they still wanted to drive home the point you cant EVER touch a ref even if it was kind of the refs fault.

None of the Patriots Super Bowl wins occured under Commissioner Goodell’s watch.

So a cheap shot late hit by Trent Cole that ended the season of Okung = $7,500, but pushing aside a ref = $25,000? I would love to be a fly on the wall in the NFL office as they discuss how much to fine these players.
