After Giants safety Kenny Phillips suffered a sprained MCL on Sunday against the Packers, we reported that he would miss “a few weeks.”

The official number is at one, and likely counting.

Listed as doubtful on Friday, Phillips officially has been downgraded to out for Sunday night’s game at Cowboys Stadium, according to Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPNNewYork.com. Phillips did not make the trip to Dallas.

Rookie Tyler Sash is expected to start in place of Phillips.
