Bill Belichick continues to search for a defense he can trust.
The team made a handful of moves on Saturday, once again shaking up the bottom of their roster. The team placed defensive lineman Jermaine Cunningham on injured reserve and signed Eric Moore. The team also waived safety Sterling Moore and promoted safety Malcolm Williams from the practice squad.
Cunningham, a second round pick a year ago, was viewed as a potential breakout player this year after a decent rookie season. He barely made an impact. Eric Moore finished last year in New England and last played in the UFL.
Sterling Moore came off the practice squad and wound up starting three games. It wouldn’t surprise us if Williams, a seventh-round pick this year, also started for the team before the season is through.
