RG3 wows with his highlights, ESPN hype and people who just stare at box scores, but Ryan Tannehill is the better pro prospect.

How many posts do you make on the same subject??? Dang dude are you Tannehill's agent???

For those that think RG3 is a little small. He's 6'2" 220 which is just about the perfect size for athleticism, toughness, sightlines, etc.

Also, RG3 would outrun Michael Vick easily. As a 17 year old he made it to the semi's in the Olympic hurdles trials. He was just hundredths away from being on the Olympic team. He set Texas state high school records in the hurdles and almost broke the national record. Vick did not have that type of speed.

Oh and as a bonus, he was 7th in his HS graduating class, finished HS in 3.5 years, college in 3 years and will finish his Masters at the end of the year. If he doesn't come back to Baylor next year, it may be because he is running out of classes to take. It's either law school, a doctorate or another major.

If I’m the Colts I trade Luck, sit Griffin until Manning hangs them up. Use the picks to draft needed talent on defense. Hopefully you can make another run at a SB. Once Manning quits you have a successor an have avoided a media circus. Griffin likely could use a year or two to watch and learn the pro style offense.

I think both Luck and Griffin will be top 5 QBs at some point in their careers. But Luck is ready to play from day one. I’m sure the Colts could get a 2 and 3 this year and maybe a 1 next year. Indy doesn’t need two franchise QBs, they need defensive talent and to replace several aging an overpaid vets

It's a good thing that you are not the Colts GM.

RG3 had a better year than Luck and was rewarded. Congtats. But, RG3 is a little small which potentially makes him one dimensional and leading me to believe he will get hammered in the pros. His speed is not in the class of Vick. Vick could not be stopped in college.

Tying Luck's fortune to RG3 is another matter. I wouldn't unless you just want to compare draft positions. It would be no surprise to me to see Luck either sit behind and watch or get hammered, like Bradford is today. I think Bradford is the true comparison with Luck and the far better QB.

Barkley anyone??

@trbowman

Way to make virtually the same post as you did on CFT. I'll sum up my original response
A) You obviously don't watch football
B) Most teams run variations of the spread in college, this one isn't a carbon copy of the Tech offense (Ganaway 1300 rushing yards)
C) Ryan Tannehill? Refer to point A

The stupidity of people amazes me, it's as if they just watch stats and not study what RGIII and Luck do in the pocket.

The only thing RGIII does better than Luck is run faster. Thats it.

RGIII has never been asked, or attempted to make more than 2 reads.
EVER

His offense is read 1, read 2 then throw or run.

Right now RGIII make reads as well as Tim Tebow. anyone who says he should go ahead of Luck is a know-nothing lil boy watching stats.

Way to early to compare Newton and Gabbert. Newton has the same QB coach who made David Garrard look great. Gabbert's QB coach was actually a WR coach. Newton has Steve Smith, Gabbert has....um nobody! Also, don't forget that the Panthers and Jags have the same record!

Give it a few years.

Barkley is the best QB in college football, hands down. He has been professionally coached in a pro-style offense since his 9th grade in high school.

Luck is going to the Colts...Do not look any further than Dan Ovrlosky as their starting QB.

Drafting a QB is such a crap shoot (coming from Raider fan I know...Especially watching the Todd Marinovich 30 for 30 last night).

I will say RGIII carries himself very well and comes from a strong background (parents both military). He definitely is smart enough to handle the pressure of being a #1 draft pick at the QB position.

If I was a team needing a QB in the first round I would jump to take him over Tannehill (who imploded against a Texas team that RGIII went wild on) or Landry Jones (who disappeared when Ryan Broyles went down).

Matt Barkley might have a bit more upside, but I would have to hate to choose between the two.

BTW...Brandon Weeden out of Okie State in the late first round/early second would be a steal.

To compare Leaf to Manning is a moronic leap in any case. Their mental make ups are vastly different...one guy is disciplined and smart, while the other felt entitled and picked on...

Based on that alone, RG3 will not be a bust.

RG-cubed is very accurate .. 72.3% tells me all i need to know about in-game accuracy.. Look at Blaine Gabbert, he's a very accurate guy in workouts, drills, etc.. Prior to the draft, he seemed like the better choice to Newton, because he was smarter, had great arm strength and was far more accurate than newton.. Throw in some real game situations, he's been awful with completing passes.. Guys like Newton, have a better feel for the real-life field of play. Same can be said of RGIII at I think at this point

Stop with Tannehill nonsense .. He's a mid round prospect, who is hit or miss.. Depending on how his pre-draft work outs go, he still might not crack the 1st round.. He's interesting, but he's not better than Luck or RG-Cubed.

And to whoever brought up the black qb argument, you are a moron .. Remember Andre Ware, Akili Smith, Tommie Frazier, Steve McNair, Culpepper, Vick, Newton, .. All top prospects at one point or another...

Luck has a good situation waiting for him.. but no QB is a sure thing.. do the 2004 draft over again… U think the Giants would have traded Phillip Rivers still?… QB’s are a hit and miss… wish them both the best of luck

I think they are more than happy with Eli. They got a Super Bowl win with him and he's yet to miss a start. They are usually in the hunt with him every year, I'd say mission accomplished.

I love this guy. Just as smart as Luck, bigger arm, just as accurate and way more athletic. If I'm the Colts, I trade down, pick him, and shore up the rest of my team with the extra picks.....He sits for a couple years learning behind Peyton manning.

Luck is not the be-all, end-all...Rg3 has a way higher ceiling.

I have liked Griffin more because he wins the games he has to win. Look at his games against Texas and OK, just this year.

Forget his box score, it is irrelevant. Look at the fact that he found a way to win. That is more important than stats.

Marino had better stats than Montana, however who was the better QB? While Marino is one of the greats, 4 rings beats 1 loss any day.

As a Redskins fan, a QB needs to be able to perform with questionable talent around him, find a way to when, and be able to run away from defenders trying to kill him.

Luck while good, still has some issues with the games he has to win, OSU this year is an example.

Luck might be the best QB coming out, however he won't fit the get hit, get hit some more, and get hit even more of the redskins.
