By now, everyone has probably seen Tom Brady and his offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien getting after it on the sideline Sunday. You may have even seen the obligatory makeup man hug at the end of the game.
After Brady had time to cool down, he laughed off the yelling match.
“I threw a pretty bad interception so he wasn’t happy about it,” Brady said. “It was probably a long line of coaches and players that were pretty pissed at me after that, but Billy got to me first and he let me have it. I deserved it . . . We’re both pretty emotional guys.
“That’s what I deserve. You make bad plays, you’re supposed to get yelled at by your coaches. Certainly not the first time and probably won’t be the last. Can’t do it in that situation and it was just a stupid play by me.”
That’s the perfect answer, which we’ve come to expect from Brady. He did his very best to make it a non-story.
Tom Curran of CSNNE.com wonders if Brady is getting wound a little too tight in his later years. Brady certainly is more willing to chew out his receivers after a mistake. It happened a number of times Sunday.
This wasn’t Brady’s best day either despite good numbers. That was probably the biggest reason for Brady’s blow-up.
“It’s football, man. It’s emotion. That’s athletics,” Brady explained.
