APThe Texans are stuck replacing yet another starting player.
As first reported by Anna-Megan Raley of Sports 610 Radio, guard Mike Brisiel broke his leg during Sunday’s win over the Bengals. The injury occurred early in the game, but Brisiel finished out the contest. (Wow.)
The team won’t place Brisiel on injured reserve. He underwent surgery Monday morning and could return in time for the playoffs. Antoine Caldwell will start in his place.
It’s been a day of celebration in Houston, in large part because of the efforts of guys like Brisiel.

Gahh… First spygate then spygate 2.0 apparently Sean Peyton is blowing Drew Brees whistle during final drives and now The Texans have half man half machine players!! Makes a lot of sense!!
Still ain’t no Jack Youngblood.
roethlisburger could learn from him. playing through an actual break and he isn’t bitching about it but all Ben will do is cry so everyone knows he had an injury, and then make it sound worse or lie about others. such a girl.
Thats insane but not at all surprising. This team wants to win.
this a true role model
Michael Lombardi, Still think these guys are soft?
irishnativeson – yeah, but he’s more like Jack Youngblood than you, me or the rest of us here. I break my leg, I stop work for the next two hours, and go to the Dr. At least that’s what I did last time. Pretty sure I would do the same thing next time.
Michael Lombardi is a gas bag.
And Mike Brisiel is a bad ass mofo.
Damn… this guy is a warrior.
He needs to watch Bathroom Ben to know how to handle these situations.
Oh, wait. Bathroom Ben had a twisted ankle, not a real injury.
Total BADASS!
Get well soon Mike we need ya
He must’ve “gotten inside the mind of a Greg Jennings. Put da team on my back!”
Can you imagine if Theisman played through his broken leg.. What a warrior he could have been remembered as, instead of the old man Potter of the telestrator.
That’s metal.
btw, who’s more likely to face relentless questioning and the most coverage about their injuries? the qb for one of the best franchises in pro sports (or any starting qb for that matter) or some lineman for a team that has never previously even qualified for postseason play? just sayin
ok, so the roethlisberger comments came outta nowhere….lil jealous folks?
before you guys go gettin all excited, the break obviously wasnt that bad if all it’ll take is 2-4 weeks and some minor surgery to fix. still a tough guy move, but it’s not like it was snapped in half.
