We don’t have a lot of rules here at PFT.
But when there’s a picture of Patriots punter Zoltan Mesko, running back Danny Woodhead, and former Washington Bullet Gheorge Muresan, well, we’re going to post it.
(Plus Florio is taking his weekly Tuesday “old man nap” so he won’t notice.)
We present the only two Romanian-born athletes to ever play in a major American professional sports league. And Danny Woodhead.

And Danny Woodhead
Mesko and Muresan included Woodhead in the picture because they have elves in Romania too.
What, no Scotsman on a horse?
Is Woodhead the guy who played Frodo in Lord of the Rings?
Looks like theyre holdin auditions for Lord Of The Rings or something.
“My Giant” will put an end to Tebowmania.
What an odd-looking photo. Not sure what else to say…
Zoltan!!!
What ever happened to Danny Woodhead? Last I heard of him he was having his head taken off in the 4th quarter of a preseason game on ST.
Belichick reserving him for another one and done playoff run or what?
If Muresan is 7’7 and Mesko is 6’5, Woodhead has to be considerably shorter than his listed height of 5’9.
That’s pretty cool though, because he’s in the NFL.
Any Monty Python reference is a good one.
Please please please be part of a photoshoot promoting an upcoming sitcom.
The current score in the Danny Woodhead Tossing Contest is 38-9, but Mesko thinks Mureshan has an unfair advantage due to his height and long arms.
“Like a frigging catapult”, was Zholtan’s complaint, loosely translated from Romanian.
I know it’s “not cool” to love a kicker but my team’s kickers are awesome. Mesko is one of those Renaissance dudes who could probably solve all the worlds problems, he’s so smart (I’m only half kidding).
Plus, I no longer have dreams about Josh Miller who up until Mesko was their best punter of the BB era.
Rofl that is one weird photo indeed
I think Danny can take them. Both.
There’s no way Woodhead is 5’9″. More like 5’5″.
Danny WoodenMidget more like it. Congrats to him though… he’s like the Mugsy Bogues of the NFL.
The Bullets are ready to play!
Maybe next you can dig up a photo of Pacman Jones and Hank Williams Jr having a beer together.
The sad thing for me is that Woodhead is taller than me.
I thought Murisan was dead…go figure.
Where’s Danny Woodhead? All I see is Mesko, Muresan, and Muresan’s teenage son.
Can’t be the Mugsy Bogues. Here are the three listed as the shortest:
RB Jacquizz Rodgers, Atlanta Falcons (5-6, 196)
RB/KR/PR Darren Sproles, New Orleans Saints (5-6, 190)
WR/KR/PR Stefan Logan, Detroit Lions (5-6, 180)
Special Mention to Brandon Banks:
WR/KR/PR Brandon Banks, Washington Redskins (5-7, 155)
Although he is listed as 1″ taller, he is the lightest man in the NFL today. Some sites do, however, list him as 5’6″ and 150 lbs.
