The Seahawks, Cardinals, Panthers, Chiefs and Dolphins are all serious contenders in 2012? You sure you didn’t just get lazy, or maybe u don’t actually know much about these teams? This is much like when you make a prediction and ur analysis is, “they need a loss”. Weak as usual. Go ask Rosenthal what’s up cuz he actually dissects teams.

It’s hard for the giants to come and play when a lot of their roster is out for the season on IR. That doesnt even count Bradshaw missing 4 games, Nicks missing a few games, Osi missing half the season, Phillips missing a few games. Other than that, the eagles are right in it. They are playing with back up linebackers to their backups, a make shift Oline and a makeshift secondary all yr.

Pats-Packers SB would be interesting — two of the best offenses in the NFL vs. the two worst defenses in the NFL (at least based on YPG; both are better than average based on PPG).

Pats #4? I’m a lifetime Pats fan and wonder if whoever does this poll has actually watched multiple recent Pats games? Their defense is of course horrible but most troubling of all they’re not getting better. Put them #4 if you like but they’ll be out of the playoffs in round 2 if not sooner.

Used to be the Pats offense could make up for the defense but nobody can carry a defense this bad for this long. God forbid they somehow stumble into the Superbowl as the Packers would abuse them with vigor…

If Tebow starts off 3 for 16 against the Pats, his team will be too far behind for another of his miracle comebacks.

First, the Pats will put up way more than ten points through three quarters regardless of what Tebow does.

Second, while the Pats’ pass defense stinks, the one thing they are good at is INTs. So many of Tebow’s errant throws will be picked off and taken the other way, giving Tom Brady short fields to work with.

Do you really believe the Broncos would beat the Lions if they played today? Honestly? C’mon, the Lions score too many points, no way the Broncos would put up over 30 on Detroit’s D. Anyway, it’s a stupid argument, they’re both 8-5 and they played head to head in Denver, the game was a joke.

And by the way, the Lions weren’t “hot” they had just lost two in a row before the Denver game.

The Vikings would’ve been given the ball back and half the distance to the goal. Also, if it would’ve been a penalty against them and they got the ball, it’d have been 15 yards, not 5 as they did away with the 5 yarder. Learn some rules!

Also, kind of tired of the rankings on this site. Can the teams in the 20 somethings get real analysis and not just the same “witty” comment copied and pasted over and over. Would be nice, just once! Perhaps if you weren’t focusing so hard on being witty you would’ve caught that the Cardinals are 6-7!

Yes, the Lions beat the Broncos six or seven weeks ago when Tebow was making his second start, Dumervil wasn’t 100%, and McGahee was out. The Lions were playing hot and Denver was transitioning. It’s the nature of the league, folks. Things change. That game might look a bit different if played under current circumstances.

through week 12 the eagles had the fewest guys on ir in the league with 2…steve smith i guess is number 3.

dallas was tied for third in the league with only 3 ir’d players….murray would make 4

the giants were tied for 27th place with 13 ir’d guys. beatty is 14 and baas will be 15 when he’s added.

thats the ONLY reason the nfc east was competitve this year.

The 9ers should have won in Arizona by double digits. RUN THE BALL IN THE REDZONE! Draw the defense close to the line and get the ball to your TEs on play action. If they don’t crowd the line smash them in the face with Big Frank and stop kicking FGs. The Niners have lost 3 games by a total of 15 points. Only the Pack is better than that.

I can’t see the Patriots above the Texans, Niners or Saints. Not with that defense. So I put them at 7. Maybe two wins against the Jets and a win against the Cowboys count for more than I think.

That being said, a win in Denver against a surging Broncos team, that apparently cannot lose, would show me something.

I just have this goofy feeling that if the Patriots don’t beat the Broncos in the regular season, that they will see them in the playoffs…and likely in the first round.
