Matt Hasselbeck, Jake Locker both miss Titans practice

Matt Hasselbeck AP

Rusty Smith was the only quarterback at Titans practice on Wednesday.

Matt Hasselbeck sat out with the calf injury that forced him out of Sunday’s loss to the Saints and Jake Locker missed the session with a sore chest courtesy of a hit he sustained after replacing Hasselbeck. Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that Locker is expected back on Thursday, but the outlook for Hasselbeck is a bit cloudier.

“There’s been a lot of Wednesdays where he hasn’t practiced because of soreness,” Titans coach Mike Munchak said. “As far as how he’s doing, there is no emergency before Friday until we see where he is at. Can he play? Can he not play? Right now I am assuming he is playing until we see otherwise.”

If Hasselbeck can’t go, Locker will likely make his first NFL start against the Colts. The Titans are still breathing in the playoff race, but will likely need to win out while getting help to grab a Wild Card berth.

The Titans will win out. Jets have Philly, AZ, and Balty. We hold the tie breaker. Watch out, losing on the last play against the Saints was one day. The playoffs are another. Time will tell. Go Titans!

Looking at the picture…..Does that guy need a towel for cover because he’s either doing number one or number two.

    Or both.

Smith’s last (and only) NFL start was over a year ago. Hopefully they won’t have to use him, he’s bound to be rusty.

Hopefully the Colts will beat the Titans.

Raiders need to win their final three AND have the Jets and Titans lose one game.

The Raiders can also get a wildcard if they lose to Detriot but beat Kansas City and San Diego AND the Jets lose twice, Cincinnati once and Tennessee once.

Raiders don’t win a tiebreaker with Tennessee at 10-6 since they Tenn would win on conference record but if Tenn drops one AFC game and the Raiders only loss is to an NFC team they’d both be 9-7.

A four way tie at 9-7 between the Raiders, Jets, Titans and Bengals goes to the Raiders as long as the Raiders are 9-7 winning their AFC games.

Should be a wild final three weeks of the regular season before the playoffs!

    What drugs are you on?
Did you actually read what the article said?
You really think titans are going to beat anyone with Rusty Smith?
Raiders are getting a wild card dude, and the Ravens or Steelers are getting the other one..
Think about it, the only way Raiders dont make it is if Jets and Rusty’s Titans win out…
Sorry buddy this is not Madden 12… Its not happening

Drugs? Nope, just high on life buddy. I live in Nashville. I understand that Hasselbeck may play and Locker will be ready to play. Ever heard of the Tennessean? It’s a newspaper in Tennessee where our Titans play. Don’t worry, we’ll be ready in Indy on Sunday. And the Raiders stink, ever heard of Tebow? I would bet so. As for Madden 12, is that a video game or a fantasy game you play? Not certain, I live in Titan Town where we will win out. You and the Raiders will be watching us and Tebow. Get over it. We can’t predict the future, but the Raiders aren’t going anywhere fast. Watch out for Locker and the Titans! We’re just getting started.

In order to “lose” the game on the last play you would have to be winning beforehand. Titans were losing the entire game.

Fantasy playoff tip: If Locker is starting start Nate Washington. If Hasselbeck is starting leave Nate on the bench.

Fact: Hasselbeck tries to impress everyone by throwing to his 2nd or 3rd read on every play while Locker goes to his 1st every time.

Problem is Nate is dinged up too and I’ve got to set my lineup tonight for the whole weekend. So then I’m left with Mendenhall or Tampa’s Mike Williams.

Locker was limited, not out of practice. Get your facts straight!
