That almost interception was a 99-yard pick-six early in the game with a (I believe) one score difference. That changes the game.

I kinda sorta agree with you, but zero chance I would have wanted Favre. As a Bears fan I find it almost sacrilegious. In retrospect, we tried to get Orton, and got blocked by the Chiefs. Orton would have been best case scenario.

As for the running back situation. We’re fine. Barber and Bell have performed with Forte out. I’m not ignoring Barber’s mistakes last week, I just don’t think they’re relevant to this conversation.

As a lifelong Packers fan, going back to the Lombardi-Halas days, I am hopeful Jay Cutler will be ready to go.

There is no satisfaction in kicking a team when it’s down.

It’s better to play at full strength.

The Bears are worthy adversaries.

It’s a great rivalry.

Hope Jay can make it back to Lambeau.

the bears were looking good before cutler went down, they won 5 straight if i’m not mistaken. but in all reality bears fans even with forte struggling some he still kept defense’s honest which opened up the passing game for cutler. and hanie is not a very good qb. tj, yates? tebow just to name a few backup qb’s. but if the pack win at k.c. there going to go for 16-0 so bears fans i wouldn’t plan on them letting you or the lions into the playoff’s if they can help it. not saying you can’t win cuz you or the lions might, but it won’t be easy. so bear down on that!

Cutler has actually (begrudgingly) earned my respect somewhat. He’s definitely tough, and he can play. Still…. the Bears are a train wreck.

The Bears were built to run the ball, play defense and dominate on special teams. They needed a “game manager” not a gunslinger. No matter how good Cutler may or may not be, he was a poor fit for the Bears.

Then, to make matters worse (or better, depending on your point of view) they went out and hired Mike Martz. Martz’s “system” doesn’t fit with the Bears OR with Cutler.

The Bears do finally have a QB, but will they have enough sense to build around him and install an offense that fits him better before he’s used up? History says no. They’ll screw it up. It’s just what they do.

And all the steeler fans are wondering why harrison got suspended. We need quarterbacks in this league. Thats why the league is protecting them. Im not a bears fan but I would rather watch cutler and the bears play rodgers and the packers then hanie. Dude sucks and makes for a boring game.

Even if the Bears lose to Seattle, there would still be an outside shot for them to make the playoffs if they beat both the Packers and Vikings. Should that occur, they would have a division record of 4-2.

Since the Lions play the Packers at Lambeau in the finale, the odds of them winning that game and also finishing 4-2 aren’t very good.

In any event, a Bears team with a 4-2 division and 9-7 overall record would beat a Lions team with a 3-3 division and 9-7 overall record.

That’s the only reason I can think of for Cutler to try to come back for the Packers game.

However, if the Bears lose to Seattle to fall to 7-7 and the Lions beat the Raiders to improve to 9-5, Cutler’s return probably wouldn’t make sense.

Ummmm… Does nobody remember that Cutler lost the last three to Green Bay?

Does anyone remember that the guy’s brain will shut off occasionally and he will give a game away?

Has anyone forgotten that several of the Bears wins this year and last (including playoffs vs. Seattle) could have very easily been losses had the Defensive Backs that Cutler threw the ball DIRECTLY to held on?

I’m sorry, but the BEARS season ends in sadness with or without Cutler. The dude is not that good.

This is one of the true NFL rivalry games (unlike GB & that 3rd rate expansion team in MN) and you always want to see both teams at full strength so no excuses can be made. I hope Cutler can play.

Anyone still questioning Cutler’s toughness (musiccitymiracle, for example) is clueless.

He tried to play at the beginning of the second half of the NFC championship with a torn ligament in his knee, for God’s sake! Most QBs would have come out the locker with a brace and crutches.

But, no, he’s a quitter because of all you body language experts think he didn’t look “into the game” enough. What a joke.

And how can anyone who watched the murderous pounding he took earlier in the year not see how tough this guy is?

If there is any way he can be out there, he will. And boy, do they need him.
