Though the Texans and defensive coordinator Wade Phillips were officially tight-lipped on Wednesday regarding the surgical procedure that Phillips would be undergoing, the team has announced a statement that sheds more light on the situation.

“Wade Phillips has completed the surgery on his kidney and gallbladder,” the team said. “He is in stable condition. In order to respect his privacy, the family has requested there be no further information given at this time.”

The specific reason for the surgery remains unknown, and the Texans have said that Phillips will miss two games. They cost the Panthers on Sunday, then visit the Colts the following Saturday.

We wish Coach Phillips a full and quick recovery.
