What happened to due process? What happened to “innocent until proven guilty”? He may very well be guilty, and if he is I sincerely hope he spends every minute of those 40 years being some bad man’s girlfriend. But being charged with a crime doesn’t mean he did it.

But what about THE LIST?…

Hurd’s list numbering double digits, with the names of NFL players dealing with Hurd. I wonder if any of the other Bears players are on that list or if there are any Cowboys players are on the list?

Why do I have a feeling the information on Hurd’s list is going to vanish?

This could potentially be a huge embarrassment to the NFL, depending on the magnitude and scope of Hurd’s operation and the number names on the list.

Double digits could mean anywhere from 10 to 99 NFL players dealing with Hurd.

That would be a pretty big story, even if the number names on Hurd’s NFL list are on the lower side of “double digits”.

Why does this article suggest the Bears wouldn’t cut better players? Or that they knew he was a drug dealer when they signed him?

Within the past few years, they cut Tank Johnson and Cedric Benson for lesser offenses, and they were much better players than Sam Hurd. As much fun as it is to critique Angelo, he’s absolutely right, the Bears have a history of low tolerance for criminals on their team.

I don’t recall anyone accusing the Packers of wrongdoing or hypocrisy when they cut Jonny Jolly. Just another example of the media loving to love the Packers and loving to hate on the Bears.

Why would the Bears have known? It was a federal investigation that was kept quiet as much as possible. I’d love to blame the Bears but it’s ridiculous to blame them in this situation.

I can’t wait for a movie to be made out of this story. Man uses front as a mediocre NFL player to hide his true identity as a modern day Tony Montana.
