All i know is they both have 2 games left and they both need 2 win and as a Bronco fan well before Teebow the Elway days iv’e been a fan since 1986 26 years and counting . I am and will always be a die hard Broncos fan and hope we will make it to the playoffs this year!!!!!! Let’s go Teebow and Defense.

No, Tebow completely stunk it up against the Pats in his first ever meeting so I think he can’t possibly do anything other than step up his performance in future meetings. When you start at the bottom, there’s nowhere to go but up right?

And you’re absolutely right that Flacco did MUCH better against the Pats in their 2009 playoff rematch than he did the previous year… not that it helped in the end, though.

As a Ravens Fan I have always been a Flacco supporter. My only beef with him is that he doesn’t seem to care enough when we lose. I suppose it is just Tebowmania for scrounging up a quote about Tebow from Flacco on a local radio station. However, Flacco drop the Tebow talk and start looking upset about how the offense is doing when you lay an egg in San Diego, or Jacksonville, etc. As fans of the Ravens, we don’t want to see you upset about Tebow coverage and not the performance of the Ravens offense.

Big Mouth Flacco did not put his big money where his mouth is; because at least Tim Teebow beat San Diego and he did not . I can attest to that I was there and witnessed the magic sitting rt behinde the Broncos bench and yes i was Teebowing!!!!!! Flacco needs to remember when he was in Teebow’s Shoes just starting out in his career your hot then your not and this weekend they both were not . Let.s just see who comes out better at the end of the season and compare Tim’s first season to Flacco’!!!!!!!!s

Well Flacco you were given NATIONAL COVERAGE last night and you were in the spotlight – how’d ya do? I’m hardly a Tebow lover (yesterday was the first time I’ve watched him play in a game and frankly he looked pretty bad… I don’t see what the hype is about), but if you’re going to complain about not getting the national spotlight you’d better show up when it finally shines on you. After last nights performance, you probably wish the media was ignoring you again.

You really suck hard and are an embarrassment to your team. Focus on playing and just maybe you might be worthy of some media coverage.

osu1968 – one doesn’t have to be football scout to assess QB talent. I think actually playing the position makes one even more apt to judge. Manning has never struggled with throwing mechanics and nobody has ever suggested as such….Tebow has terrible mechanics and he is not and never will be a true NFL QB…sorry, he will be out of the league in 2

I wouldn’t question anyone’s NFL scouting ability seeing as you just compared Tim Tebow and Peyton Manning. Regardless of future or past success, you could not pick two QBs who have less in common.

There’s no getting past the scrutiny Flacco will be under in the playoffs no matter the seed. Past performance has been game manager in wins and costing the team the game in losses.

Popping off about Tebow doesn’t help…but hey, if his jock is big enough for it this year….no biggie.

That’s why the #1 seed is so important. 12th man takes lots of the pressure off.

Flacco is Wacko and green with envy about Tebow and the media freenzy that is not Tim’s fault. Everyone has an opinion and we know what that is like lol! Flacco needs to focus on beating the Chargers this sunday; which is something Teebow and the hot defense of the Denver Bronco’s has done sucessfully in San Diego and i just happen to be a witness to the magic in field level seats rt behind the Broncos Bench. If Flacco does’nt do what Teebow did he will regret his comment, he needs to get his mind off of the freenzy, back on his game and maybe give Teebow a call apoligize with a kneel down and strike a Teebow pose, just saying!!!!!!!!T E E B O W WOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Of course, I’m obviously biased and a “homer” in this situation, but Flacco’s 100% right.

The 24 hr Sports Media in the U.S. has become like a soap opera channel. And each month, the national sports writers/media pundits pick a flavor-of-the-month and obsess over it like a bunch of teenage girls. “The Onion” said it best with their faux headline, “Tim Tebow becomes the first Christian to play in the NFL”. It’s laughable all this nonsense.

Evidence of sports media beating dead horses (no pun intended Broncos fans!): Brett Favre, Mike Vick, Ocho Cinco, Terrell Owens, Penn State/Sandusky, LeBron James…

Flacco took his team to the AFC Championship game his rookie year and didn’t get half the press. And for those of you quoting stats, Flacco’s have never been Peyton, Brees or Rodgers-like, but the guy is about to go to the playoffs for the 4th time in just as many years. The Ravens are the only team to have win at least one playoff game for the past 3 seasons. Those are #s that as a Ravens fan I’ll gladly take.

And the chip on Joe’s shoulder? Good. Last time he had a chip on his shoulder over another QB was when he transferred from Pitt to Delaware b/c he believed he was the better QB over Palko. Looks like that worked out pretty well for him. Meanwhile, Palko apparently still plays for Pitt as he gave the Steelers the game when the Chiefs played them.

Tebow, I mean Flacco, should stop fixating on what he did against the Steelers and focus on the games that they should win, ala losing to Jacksonville, Tennessee and Seattle….Flacco hasn’t made a probowl, made it to the superbowl, or beaten Ben Roethlisberger when it mattered. The bottom lines is that you are average at best without Ray Rice and a solid defense, IMHO.

There are two teams I usually don’t root for that I’ll root for this weekend:

Denver over the Boston area team; and
The 49ers over the pompous Stillers.

When the Ravens win Sunday night, that should put them in the playoffs for the fourth year (of four) with Flacco as the QB.

Oh, and Stiller fans? Remember that Flacco was slated to be the third string QB at the beginning of his first NFL season (the back-up to the back-up). The plan was that he might be the eventual starting Ravens QB at some time in the future, or trade bait for a future need of the Ravens. I don’t think he’s done real bad for a 3rd string QB.

Best in AFC maybe (although Jets/Patriots fans, and Raiders/Broncos/Chiefs fans, etc. might disagree). Expand to the NFL, and then you’d bring in Deadskins/Big Hats (no cattle); Packers/Vikings; Rams/49ers (especially from a few years ago when the Rams were in LA); etc.

I can also think of several other rivalries (in colleges) that rival the Ravens/Steelers competition, and in ALL sports, not just one sport – IU/Purdue; UCLA/USC; Manchester/Hanover; much of the Ivy League vs the other schools in the Ivy League; etc.

I don’t know that much about rivalries in high school sports outside the state of Indiana, but there are a LOT of such rivalries there – based on one or more ‘incidents’, games, location, or other reason.

But even so, I would, as a Ravens fan, agree that the Raven/Steelers rivalry is one of the best.

Have you ever studied the history of ANY pro team? Almost ALL are relocated from some other city to where they are now.

Yankees? Originally located in Baltimore.

Bears? Originally located in Decatur.

Lakers? Originally located in Minneapolis (why do you think they are called ‘the Lakers’?).

The Cardinals? They’re not originally from St. Louis, but Chicago.

Rams? Los Angeles.

Chiefs? Dallas.

Raiders? Are they from Oakland, or from Los Angeles?

Clippers? They began as the Buffalo Braves before they moved to San Diego, then to LA.

Kings? They began playing in Rochester before moving to Cincy, then to Kansas City/Omaha, then Kansas City alone prior to moving to Sacramento.

Even the Steelers would not be in existence if they hadn’t temporarily merged with the Eagles in 1943, and the Cardinals in 1944 (for a combined, two-year record of 5 wins, 14 losses, and one tie [and zero playoff games those two years]).

So before you accuse any team of being ‘stolen’, maybe you should include all of the above (and more, such as the Pistons? Wizards? Etc.) in your accusation.

How far back do you go?

In 1973, I knew someone who was the VERY last cut for the Oakland Raiders. The reason he got cut? He tackled one of the Oakland Receivers with a clothesline tackle – a legal hit in the NFL at the time. The coach didn’t like the ‘lack of sportsmanship’, and cut my friend. And the coach clearly stated that the ONLY reason for the cut was the display of ‘non-sportsmanship’, not for any other reason.

My friend then went to the Cincinnati Bengals camp for a tryout (the only camp that wanted to see him). Cincy almost signed him, the clothesline tackle notwithstanding.

Looks to me like Cincy allowed and encouraged dirtier play then than the other NFL teams, especially the Oakland Raiders. Has Cincy changed that much? Although it looks like Cincy now plays cleaner football ON the field than the Stillers do.
