The Vikings will have their best player back in the lineup on Sunday. The question is how many carries Adrian Peterson will get.

Peterson is listed as probable and will start, but coach Leslie Frazier doesn’t want to overwork Peterson.

“Well, he’s missed some time, so we’ll have to kind of work him in there,” coach Leslie Frazier said after Friday’s practice via espn1500.com. “It wouldn’t be as if he had not missed a game. So, we’ll have to monitor how he’s doing.”

The team wanted to see how Peterson’s ankle responded in practice this week and he was no worse for wear. The Vikings figure to have a run-heavy approach against the Saints, with Toby Gerhart likely to be in the mix more than usual when Peterson is healthy.

Christian Ponder is also probable and will start after getting benched during last week’s game.
