Getty ImagesSkeltonmania has captured the nation’s imagination. And it’s going to last for at least another week.
ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter reports that John Skelton will start at quarterback for the Cardinals on Sunday against the Browns. Kevin Kolb is battling the effects of a concussion suffered last week against the 49ers.
This news raises an interesting question: If Skelton wins the game, will he start over a healthy Kolb next week? Skelton is 4-1 during games in which he took the majority of snaps. Kolb is 2-5.
The Cardinals will remain in the NFC playoff picture for at least another week if they can beat Cleveland and get to 7-7.

Kevin Kolb sucks.
John Skelton SHOULD be the starting QB on the Cards next year.
kolb is a bum!
I feel like whoever loses this game has a better shot at getting RG3, so as a Browns fan I say, go Cards!
Back in his combine, John Skelton struck me as a quality QB and an all-around good dude. May his path be paved in gold.
I’ve been a Skeltonite before he was drafted. I believe.
Much better than being a Tebowite.
Get Skelton going early with some short passes early to get his confidence up and Cards win big! Playoffs won’t happen this year due to them giving games away to Washington, Seattle, Baltimore, and the Giants. Next season they will be fine with a full off season. Ray Horton will have the defense ranked in the top 5. Offense will be better with a healthy Williams behind Beanie. O line hopefully will be addressed in free agency and the draft.
To this day they speak in reverential awe of the legendary Skelton of Fordham. Shown here in an action pose from the era.
Skelton nation rejoice. Skeltonmania is upon us
“Skeltonmania”? Was that a joke?
He’s doing better than Kolb but he’s hardly brilliant.
Kolb is a wimp. If his primary receiver is covered, he goes into a shell.
2 weeks from now, Skelton will be a joke.
Oh, there goes the Cardinals chances of winning.
Skelton is terrible.
My guy Rich Bartel can’t get a shot!
Good everytime he plays. Could be the next great story if he gets opportunity.
Having to choose between starting Kolb or Skelton is like having to choose between getting punched in the face or kicked in the shin. Basically, both options suck!
It was a joke steven, its called “sarcasm” – look it up.
In the playoff picture??? Come on man!!! There’s a one in a million scenario for the Cards to get in. Start thinking about 2012.
Kolb woulda been better served to stay in Philly. IM sure he woulda been better back up to “sick vick” than Vince “McMahon” Young!
Just wait for the Pryormania and Pryorites to be born. There’s also the Webbmania and Webbites lurking in the background.
Go John Skelton!!!! Go John Skelton!!!!
The Cards should just dump Kevin Kolb after this season because they’re the new Miami Dolphins, a team that flushes its second round picks down the toilet!!!!!
The Fins wasted 2nd round picks on guys like Koa Misi, Philip Merling, and quarterbacks via the draft and trade over recent years. The Cardinals are very similar as they wasted theirs on guys like Alan Branch, Cody Brown, and, now, Kevin Kolb via trade.
If they keep Skelton they’re better off because they do well with lower round guys like Calais Campbell, Steve Breaston, Tim Hightower, and Darnell Dockett!!!! Let’s give Skelton (a.k.a. “Tim Tebow with arms but no legs and Skip Bayless’ ass kissing) a shot because he’s a winner, but developing … like … you guessed it …
Tebow
!!!
It’s amazing the cards are even hovering anywhere near .500
The question is: was Kolb ever a good QB, or McNabb was just that bad? Mike Shanahan picked Grossman and Beck over McNabb and I don’t see any teams getting up what the Cardinals gave up for Kolb, giving up the same for Grossman and Beck.
Does anyone else think that the Card’s from office is asking themselves, “WHY THE F@#K DID WE PAID KOLB!?”

The vaunted Kevin Kolb. The Eagles knew something. But the Cards didn’t get shafted any worse than the birds. DRC stinks, too.
Won’t learn much this week….Jim Hart could beat the Browns today
I guess the Cards are rethinking that huge contract they gave to an average quarterback at best in Kevin Kolb. They should ask for a refund!
And Kevin Kolb is FLABERGASTED !

But you never know what that early 2nd round pick will be.
Skelton Time! Guy just wins…
I’m not naive enough to actually believe this will happen- but it would be so great if Seneca Wallace comes in and moves the ball down the field and scores on, at least, every other drive.
I’ll take ANY shred of evidence that makes Shurmur look like he’s made the wrong choices. The sooner that inept putz is out of here, the better.
