Two days ago, Texans defensive coordinator Wade Phillips underwent surgery on his kidney and gallbladder. The team has released another statement regarding Phillips, who was upgraded to good condition on Friday.

“The medical staff is very pleased with Wade Phillips continued improvement,” the Texans said. “He has been out of bed and will be up walking today. He is appreciative to all that have inquired about him and he is very anxious to get back to the football field.”

Earlier this week, Phillips said he’d return to the team in 10 days. Coach Gary Kubiak has said that Phillips could miss two games.

We wish Coach Phillips well as he continues his recovery.
