APAs the Bengals find a way thrust themselves back into the playoff chase, a key cog in the Big Orange Machine says he’ll continue to play despite a shoulder injury.
Rookie receiver A.J. Green, who surpassed 1,000 receiving yards against the Rams, returned to action after banging up the joint.
“I had it before and it’s nothing serious. I’m definitely not going to miss these last two games for nothing,” Green told reporters after the game, via Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Per Reedy, it’s a Grade 3 sprain, a degree on a six-level scale that typically doesn’t require surgery. Ultimately, Green’s ability to play will hinge on his ability to tolerate pain, with or without a little something injected into his body to assist the process.
The Bengals host the Cardinals on Saturday, one of 13 games to be played on Christmas Eve.

That guy is a STUD!
This man is a beast.
AJ Green is a monster, impressive performance by that young man today.
as a Bengals fan, AJ – thank you, thank you, thank you!! You are our Christmas gift this year.
This dude is a freaking beast. Good draft by the Bengals.
Wait you’re outplaying your rookie contract, you should use this injury as an excuse to holdout … just ask Forte how it’s done.
Seriously though, glad to see he’ll be ok. He’s had a great season!
Its what separates the goods from the greats…..the greats find a way to be on the field……
Another excellent draft by Cincy! Hope my jersey is under the tree.
I think Green and Jones could prove to be the best rookie combo to come out in a long time.
Captain Checkdown (Andy Daulton) needs his best receiver to give the Bungles fans false hope! He better not milk this injury too long!
He’s my 2nd WR on my fantasy football team, and I’m in the championship game next week. He’s the best WR rookie since Randy Moss.
Today is the final day for pro bowl voting. Take a look and see what Green has done and how he did it, if he doesn’t get your vote then your a homer. This kid deserves.to go to Hawaii!
Aj green is on the same level as megatron, fitz and andre johnson. Just throw the ball up and he’ll come down with it. This draft was awesome with andy and Aj!!
People talk about QB all the time but WR is also a very, very tough position for a kid to excel at as a rookie. This kid’s for real. Top 3 already as far as hands IMO. Fitz-like.
