Brees keeps building a big-money resume

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees celebrates with Saints line backer Darren Sproles after touchdown against Vikings Reuters

Regardless of when the Saints and quarterback Drew Brees work out a new long-term deal (and it’s hard not to believe they will), Brees continues to build leverage toward getting paid as much or more than Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.

Brees has completed 22 of 27 passes for 285 yards and four touchdowns in his team’s game at Minnesota.  He currently has 4,653 yards on the season, only 431 short of the all-time single-season record.

The Saints lead the Vikings 28-13.  With a loss, Minnesota would fall to 2-12.  A win would help the Saints keep pace with the 49ers for the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoff field.

Drew Brees will break the record. He is in my opinion better than anybody playing QB in the NFL and that includes Rogers. Can you imagine the Chargers letting this guy walk away for nothing. Looking back that had to be one of many stupid moves by those idiots running the San Diego team.

Maybe the new Dolphin regime will right the, twice wrong, and sign him as a free agent !! Because as they continue their new winnings ways it looks like they may not be getting one of the QB’s in the draft.

Why are the Saints playing hardball on Brees contract? He likely wants Manning style money, and based on his level of play he should get it. The last time this happened he wanted elite money and the Chargers got one broke off in them by not paying him. If New Orleans has any hesitations about paying him they need to walk by the trophy case.

Brees is great, and deserves to be paid every bit as much as any other top QB. Unlike paying RB’s big money, he is not a gamble.

How do you not give this guy a monster contract!!?

Although it may not be needed, but another superbowl mvp would guarantee his highest paid label

Any game you watch with Drew Brees at QB you know your going to see a show! San Diago management should digest a steady diet if crow for letting him leave town! I think alot of it had to do with his shoulder surgery why they were reluctant to resign him and Philip Rivers was the up and coming guy AJ should be removed along with Norv!! Just my opinion!!!
