Giants face big halftime deficit

Washington Redskins vs New York Giants Getty Images

The Giants haven’t been able to carry their momentum from the Cowboys game over to this week.

The team trails 17-3 at halftime after a miserable first half against the Redskins. The Giants secondary picked off two passes, but gave up too many big plays to Rex Grossman.

Hakeem Nicks dropped a would-be long score, and the Giants offense hasn’t been able to stay on the field. They lost tight end Jake Ballard to a knee injury during the first half. His return is questionable.  Special teamer Devin Thomas was also taken off the field on a stretcher after the final play of the first half.  He was able to move his arms to salute the crowd.

This Giants team hasn’t been able to handle success this year. We’ll see if they have another big comeback in them.

Year in and year out, the Giants are the ultimate when it comes to playing to the level of their competition. They give GB game, upset the Patriots, but lose these head-scratchers.

Exhibit A: Pierre-Paul has a 10K fine this season for roughing the passer penalty (Fitzpatrick). He just took another one with a helmet-to-helmet hit on Grossman. Will he be fined again? What will the amount be? Will he be put on a repeat offender list? More importantly – WHY DOES NO ONE IN THE MEDIA CARE TO ASK THESE QUESTIONS?????

Knock them out of the playoffs please! They’re the team I believe has the most potential to upset Green Bay’s chances of repeating as Champions.

LOL… Like I been saying all year…. Giants are soft front running pansies…. everybody starts talking about how great they are and they come out and play like garbage, at home, against a bunch of 2nd stringers…. wheres the Giants fan who was calling me out last week?

Hopefully this will finally be the collapse that sends Coughlin out the door for good.

Chris Canty really must be ugly or really self-conscious about his looks

That guy with the ridiculous facemask and the dark visor must be pretty ugly.

They don’t deserve to be in the playoffs. This will be remembered as the game that cost Coughlin his job.

Coughlin needs to be fired if the Giants blow this game.

  10. howley1 says: Dec 18, 2011 3:00 PM

Canty got a detached retina when he was hit in the face with a beer bottle while trying to break up a fight in a bar. Hence the visor/facemask combo.

This is year in and year out at home ! If my memory serves me right it always starts out with a GIANTS receiver wide open down field dropping a ball, followed up by 3 to 4 Eli interceptions !

    Dear giants,

You won your superbowl last week… Too bad there’s 3 weeks in the season left… But look on the bright side you’ll get a high draft pick

    Sincerely,

    The Dallas cowboys

Like you’ve been saying all year? Sorry, after the Skins good start, once they went south you were nowhere to be found.

I guess you’ll the whatever you can get when your team annually take last place in the division.

Number 99… Does he play goalie?

Coughlin has to go. So does Killdrive. AND FEWELL. Injuries galore on defense, I DON’T CARE. Next man up. They are NFL players. This guy has been scared to blitz since the debacle in Week 15 vs. PHI last year.
