I hear a lot of criticism for JJ the GM. A GM doesn't necessarily do the coaching he is more responsible for making personnel decisions. In terms of personnel the Cowboys have just as much talent as any team in the league. Big time moves like picking up L.Robinson, drafting Murray. Thats just this year but also overriding Parcells and grabbing D.Ware b4 D.Spears. Jerry has 3 rusty old rings but what other active owner has more right now? The Cowboys only have 1 playoff win since '98'. But even if they had 15 playoff wins in that span of time, playoff wins without SB titles are only worth something in towns like Philly or Minnesota. Hopefully when they start winning playoff games again they can grab a title in the process cause that's all that matters to a real Cowboys fan.

"Sure, because if you’re the third highest rated passer of all-time (96.8) and you have one of the best winning percentages of all time (.626) and to top it off, nobody even considered you worth drafting, your career has definitely been “lackluster”. Buy a dictionary"

How's the postseason worked out for him with those numbers? Would you rather be the third highest rated passer of all time or have a ring? Bottom line, fair or not, people remember the wins in January and February, not in September or October. He still has time to change the perception, but he's not seen as "the guy" who can get it done in the postseason.

I have been a lifelong Cowboy fan and it is painfully obvious that Romo is not the man to lead them back to a championship. Romo is just another QB who plays well when nothing is on the line and when crunch time comes, he folds. He will show flashes of greatness from time to time but he isn't a leader that can inspire an ok team take it all the way.

You want answers, I've got answers: The Dallas Cowboys have developed a culture of losing because of Jerry Jones. Think about it like this: authoritarian, iron-grip leadership by a guy nobody respects. Jerry's drunk and disorderly at every Cowboys social function trying to act like one of the guys, hitting on young women. He makes a buffoon out of himself at the Cowboys Christmas party every year, not to mention every bar around Dallas all year long. In effect, he castrates the whole situation. Winning is mental, the Cowboys have had tons of talent but a great year is 10-6. I work for the Cowboys and see this year in, year out. I've also known Tebow since we played together at UF. I'm an agnostic too but I know that carrying ones self like a winner translates to results.

"Jones makes no secret that it would be one of the most disappointing results in his time as the team’s owner."

As opposed to the Giants knocking them out of the playoffs when they were heavily favored to be the NFC team facing the Pats in the Super Bowl? As opposed to getting blown out in the last game in the old stadium? As opposed to the Giants winning the first game in their new stadium? Jerry has had so much to be disappointed about over the last five years, I'm surprised he's putting so much weight on this year. Bottom line, they absolutely have a shot to make the playoffs, but have no shot to go anywhere in the playoffs. Whoever represents the NFC East, will be a deeply flawed team that will, most likely, be one and done.

I understand people wanting to root for the Cowboys, and Romo. Yes, they looked stellar last night. Problem is, history repeats itself. Romo has yet to prove he can win big, when it counts. The schedule the Cowboys had this year was perfect for an SB run, but the two back to back losses, that were senseless, and horrific, have to remind Cowboy fans of what to expect. Does anyone really believe the overtime win against San Fran was NOT luck. And it's the only good team they have beaten. If Dallas is that lucky again, it will involve not going near Green Bay, or New Orleans. The fact that they couldn't beat the Giants, in their own stadium, and have to go to New York to try, yet, again, should tell rational thinkers that the Cowboys are done. As good as the Boys appear, against teams falling apart, they don't stand a prayer against solid teams. If Romo is the solution, he still has to provide proof, at some point in his lackluster career. And it isn't "Hater gonna hate", it's "History repeats itself".

Neither the Giants nor the Cowboys made the playoffs last year, so how come they play Detroit at home and Tampa Bay while the Giants have to play the Packers and the Saints in New Orleans.

--------------------------------------------------------------

The NFL obviously determines the schedule using a formula. This formula dictates that each team plays six division games, and four games vs. opponents from another division in their own conference and the other conference on a rotating basis. Each team also plays once against the other teams in its conference that finished in the same place in their own divisions as themselves in the previous season, not counting the division they were already scheduled to play: one at home, one on the road. The Giants were second place in the NFCE, so they got to play the Packers (who were second in their division last season) and the Saints (who were second in their division)

@pencilmonkeymagic

The pressure has always been on Romo, you’re really just making that statement now?

He’s having the best season of his career and is still being criticized.

------

Err, no. I was directing my criticism at the buffoon in charge. Yes Romo has always had pressure upon him. What Jones is effectively now saying is "Whatever happens from now on, Tony, I'll be blaming you" Hardly what Romo will want to hear, is it?

Jones is a moron. I wouldn't trust him to run a bath, much less an NFL franchise.

“a career dissapointment.” Did anyone else read between the lines on this? I think he’s got one more Romo-related crash-and-burn left before its over and Dallas deals for a QB.

That's dumb. Over the last 7 games Romo has thrown 18 TD passes and 2 INTs. If you think that Romo is the problem, you don't know what you're watching.

Right, when never getting closer than 16 points in the second half is "keeping the Bucs in the game".

Cowboys sat Ratliff and Ware for the second half, by the way. The offense spent the entire second half eating the clock.

Romo – typical meltdown we’ve come to expect with a goofball play at the 10 yard line.

Yeah so one play is a "typical meltdown" lol. Kid played lights out football last night. Haters gonna hate.

Who the hell determines the NFL schedule.

Neither the Giants nor the Cowboys made the playoffs last year, so how come they play Detroit at home and Tampa Bay while the Giants have to play the Packers and the Saints in New Orleans.

There wouldn't be any contest if the schedules were the same.
