Sucks big time, he is one of the FEW playmakers on that defense. And without big plays like sacks and turnovers the d barely stops anyone.

Anderson can provide similar (not the same) pass rush, but will get run over in the ground game, Carter was stout against the run. That will be a huge difference.

backindasaddle and CKL are 100% correct…those Poston brothers or cousins or whatever they are are pretty nasty agents. There’s no love lost between them and the Pats with Milloy and Law is previous clients. They are probably one of the reasons Law never came back with the Pats even though BB reached out to him many times.

Too bad for Carter…he was a beast for us and more than we ever expected. Hope he recovers quickly and completely…for himself first and foremost.

Has anyone proposed the idea of chopping off Shaun Ellis’ leg and giving it to Carter? From what we’ve seen of Ellis all year he’s barely using it.

That’s a real bummer. I thought it was an ACL as soon as he went down, the way he was grabbing at his knee and all. It’s a big loss, but they got after Tebow just fine in the latter part of the game. There are no two ways around it, this defense is in tough shape. I was just glad to see them come out and make some adjustments in the 2nd quarter and 2nd half and play like they were embarrassed about how everyone is laughing at them. That had to happen. Get well Mr. Carter. We’ll see you in the spring.

I about puked when I heard his agent was Poston. I agree he probably did it on purpose. He’s the reason Milloy didn’t end his career as a Patriot and probably the reason Ty Law called BB a liar to the media.
I feel so bad for Carter. He’s been a HUGE positive for the Pats on and off the field. Get well soon, Mr. Carter93.

Surely a blow to the defense, but the pass rush seemed to pick it up when Anderson replaced Carter. Anderson is quicker off the snap and more agile in his persuit of the passer in my opinion. He brings a spark to this front 7 and will come up big in the playoffs mark my word.

That’s going to hurt for sure, but the Pats D hasn’t exactly been stable even with him in the fold. The line has been sub-par but the secondary is atrocious. Are they really going to get worse by having Mark Anderson collapsing the pocket instead of Carter? Fewer sacks, but he can still get after it.

Losing Carter would be a very difficult injury for the Patriots defense to deal with. He has been their best pass rusher this year, and there really isn’t another player that is close.

Mark Anderson did a pretty good job as a replacement. Last I checked he had 2 almost 3 sacks.

It’s unfortunate that Andre Carter had to experience this injury-especially with his parents in the stands to watch him play. While this will definitely have a negative impact on the Patriots defensive line, that group is the deepest, most talented part of their defense.

I didn’t realize that he was represented by the Postons. I guess he would have been a one and done in New England based on their negotiating history and his big season. In any event, best wishes for a speedy recovery and good luck wherever he ends up playing next year.

Devensive line is place where Pats do have some depth. Savvy veteran Gerard Warren is a decent replacement for Carter and Pats DE Mark Anderson stepped up his game today with 2 Sacks and 1 FF.

This is too bad. Andre is finally on a winning team, was playing well and enjoying a resurgence at the end of his career. Sorry to see him be injured.

Carter will surely be missed. He was rock solid all year and a great veteran presense in the locker room BUT Anderson came in and filled in nicely. And he’s had his moments throughout the year, so much so that I’d say he would qualify as being close to Carter as one of the Pats best pass rushers Gregggg.
