What are you going to do with Campbell? He’s a better passer and takes care of the ball. You can’t make Palmer your #2, then you have Pryor as well.

Here’s what’s going to happen; You will miss the playoffs, of course, Hugh will have to stick with Palmer next year, Pugh will get fired around game 6, and Campbell will be your QB. You could’ve just as easily been below average, or maybe put it on your defense that they need to step up, and worst case you’re in the running for a long term solution at QB. All while NOT giving up draft picks. BRILLIANT!

-----------------------

Um, while you just keep talking I'll tell you what is going to happen. Jason Campbell is a free agent after this year and wont be with the team next year unless he knows he's the number 2 and gets paid like one.

Not taking the three points early in the game against a pretty stout Lions defense was inexcusable. To make thing s worse, the play that was called worked perfectly until Palmer put too much on the ball and slightly over threw his wide open receiver. It pretty much bit the Raiders in the rear when the clock hit 0:00.

That's all on Hue.

On the flip side the defense blew it big time and Chuck Bresnahan should be fired, let alone even hired to begin with. I remember wanting to puke when I heard he was returning. He can't seem to make the proper adjustments as the game goes on. Look at the Bills game, the second Denver game, and yesterday's Lions game for great examples.

What killed me yesterday, is that Megatron was left running free in mismatches all over the middle of the field far too often. The to let a team with no time outs drive the ball the entire length of the field to win the game in little over two minutes? That's just embarrassing as well as pathetic.

Kyle Boller wasn’t leading this team anywhere.

Maybe trade for a Kyle Orton (from a divisional rival?)

Robert Griffith III in 2012?

All are better calculated decisions than you DA coach made by getting Palmer for a 1st and a 2nd.

Or you could've had nearly any #2 in the league for a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Instead your DA coach goes for a, past his prime, QB who hasn't thrown a ball in 12 months and all for a team that clearly isn't playoff ready. Except for yesterday, Plamer has put up 3rd string type numbers and you guys still think it was a good move. What are you going to do with Campbell? He's a better passer and takes care of the ball. You can't make Palmer your #2, then you have Pryor as well.

Here's what's going to happen; You will miss the playoffs, of course, Hugh will have to stick with Palmer next year, Pugh will get fired around game 6, and Campbell will be your QB.
I love DMC and when he's healthy, he's a lethal weapon. The problem is, he's hurt every year and forces the team to make too many changes to the game plan in his absence. If you can get a first round pick for him I'd make the trade today. Jimmy Johnson says if you have a player who is consistently injured, regardless of talent you should get rid of him.

What I wouldn't do to be the GM for 1 day :)

Some of these comments are hilarious! If one of those passes are complete and the Raiders won, nobody would be saying Hue is a bad coach. Remember Belichick going for it on fourth down against the Colts? Faulk is stopped short and all of a sudden Belichik is a horrible coach???

Some people just don't get it. They could have played Martyball and run it up the gut three times and punted. Hue went for the Jugular, and I respect that. You live by the sword and you die by the sword. That is the Raider way!

Look,,you could talk about the worst game and bad decisions...

you could talk about losing a game with 13 point lead with 6 minutes left

you could talk about us being on Detroit’s 21 yard line and Hue Jackson going for on 4th down instead of taking the FG

you could talk about Tennessee, Denver and the Jets losing, and, we let the Lions waltz for 99 yards with 2 min left

or you could talk about Bresnahan calling a defense that puts our MLB in deep coverage on Calvin Johnson(!)

the bottom line is...this team is having to come back from ...its owner dying, its players getting relatives shot, a multitude of injuries, bad, long term expensive contracts (Seymour, Routt, Huff, Kelly and DHB) and bad trades.

its having to come back from nearly 8 years of horrific coaching turnover and game management.

We could have had Calvin Johnson, yet he went 9 catches for 241 yards and 2 TD's.... what did our first round pick do...he had his best game
yet dropped a key pass, then Schilens dropped another.

This team has to get a GM and get the parts in place. We went for a QB and crapped out, mortgaging the future,
but what choice did we have? There was no GM to make the key decision, nor an efficient scouting system that could work, because the coaching turnover lent us no identity?

The Niners did it the simple way - play defense, run the ball and don't turn it over. This element of a defensive minded head coach could help turn this around, but were swimming up stream. Simply not enough play makers MAKING PLAYS in key situations. - had Schillens made the catch late, that'd put Sebass in for a higher percentage 54 yard FG instead of a 64 yd FG that was partially blocked anyway.

This team remains a work in progress that has to get an identity. Tim Tebow proved one thing, a man who is a winner can change the complexion of an entire team. They must search high and low for players with those intangibles; leadership, determination, perseverance.
They have been losing for too long, and it has created habitual deficiencies they havent learned to overcome.

Try some sense and average some games instead of blindly saying you’d take that based on one performance. Carson’s not going to be in the league for longer than 2 more full seasons and he was never worth a 1st AND 2nd round pick. Hugh acted like he was the sole piece needed and he choked. Now you trolls have 3 QB’s and your best one is the one that got hurt mid-season. What are you going to do with him next year? The other 3 teams in the west will continue to get better and the faiders will continue to fade. You have no draft and no future in Palmer. Pull you head out. Granted being a Jokeland fan must be hard with the ridiculous decisions in the last 20 years but try to look outside the pit you call raider nation. Everyone’s laughing at you clowns.

What other QB was available, moron?

What QB was available? Nobody is laughing at us, we made a calculated decision based on the severity of the situation - there will be 22 other teams at home during the playoffs at well - Every team is trying to compete. Why don't you consider that some teams will make desperate moves to off set a very bad situation (owner dying, etc)

Once again the Raiders shot themselves in the foot. To many penalties at the wrong times, to many chances blown and the defense gets blown up again at the end of the game. Hue makes blunder after blunder. Seems there isn't any discipline on the team from the coaching staff down to the team players. I'm really disappointed in this team this year. They had the division won and they layed down and choked. Has Big Al's death contributed to the downfall as a distraction? Not sure why they just don't get mad as hell and play the smash mouth football that was winning them games. DMC and his lack of playing has contributed to the downfall. Not sure why it's taking so long for him to get back. Other players on different teams have had the same injury and returned, some within the same game. This team just gets me so frustrated. So many years a fan, seems one can't rely on winning the big ones anymore.

Did anybody actually watch the game. Rolando McClain was in position to atleast bat the ball down and didn't do it. Then he wiffs on the Stafford tackle a couple plays later that would have ended the game. This guy needs to go. I don't care what they've got to pay him or how high he was drafted. This guy sucks. I'm not blaming him completely for the loss but he did his part. He hurts us way more than he helps. As for Chuck B. He's gotta go too. There's a reason this guy wasn't coaching on an NFL team last season. As for Hue. I still believe he's the right guy for us. I like the fact he's got balls and he's not affraid to go against the grain. Our offense has looked the best it has in years and we've got him to thank for that.

Not a fair match-up to expect McClain run down the middle of the field for almost 40 yards to take away the middle of the field against probably the best WR in the game. Also, Hue needs to be reminded that he isnot coaching at UOP anymore. In fact, they dropped football up in Stockton years ago. Also, dropped it at Cal State Fullerton where he coached with Mariucci.

Hue spent Saturday afternoon getting a mani and a pedi in the East Bay, as featured in the latest issue of ESPN. Maybe he should have been meeting with the defense to talk about its two-minute defense.

Carson Palmer is NOT the problem. IMO he's done a great job given the circumstances and I look forward to him getting better next season after he can put in the time with the WR's. The issues are poor decision making by the coaches and lack of discipline on defense. Routt leads the league in defensive holding calls. Tommy Kelly has to be at or near the top for offsides.

BTW - kudo's to the o-line yesterday. They were outweighed by a considerable margin yet they kept one of the most talented defensive lines in the league pretty much in check.

And there were like 2 and some change when they had that 3rd down pass. As big a blunder as Marion barber last week. It hurt the playoff chances so much. Possibly the biggest coach blunder all year.

------------------------------------------------

Lighten up Francis.. this game in truth didn't really mean that much to the playoff chances... especially considering the Broncos, Titans, and Jets lost. Should they have probably won? Yes. But it didn't hurt their playoff chances that much.. their playoff chances were best by winning their last two and Denver losing to KC, which considering Orton probably has a big chip on his shoulder right now, may not be such a bad bet. Whether the Raiders can hold up their end of the bargain by beating those same Chiefs, and by beating a suddenly resurgent SD offense. If Breshnahan continues to cover #1 receivers with Romac and Boyd, my guess is probably not... but I'm not going to abandon ship at this point. Hell, it has been 10 years since I even was remotely excited in week 16 of a season.. I'll take my little hope and run with it.

Hue should have got "DEFENSIVE" when he had the Lions pinned down inside the 5 yard line, late in the game, with a 6 point lead.

Same ole Raiders...they do everything....BUT WIN THE GAME!!!

You do realize that Carson completed 32 of 40 passes…right? No interceptions, a passer rating of 111, and a TD with 367 total yards for the day. I’d take that ANY day!!!

Sure, what did he do the last 6 weeks though? haven't the faiders been shut-out twice on 6 weeks? And you think Carson is good based on what he did against Detroit?

Try some sense and average some games instead of blindly saying you'd take that based on one performance. Carson's not going to be in the league for longer than 2 more full seasons and he was never worth a 1st AND 2nd round pick. Hugh acted like he was the sole piece needed and he choked. Now you trolls have 3 QB's and your best one is the one that got hurt mid-season. Everyone's laughing at you clowns.

So, now that we traded the farm for Carson does that mean that Pryor is never going to see the field in the next 4-5 years? (I don’t think that was the plan when we took him with a 3 in the supplemental draft, pre-carson. Man, I hate having Carson on the team.)

The fault lies with Bresnahan on that past Lions drive. With the last couple of minutes left in the game, the Lions had to go 98 yards to get a touchdown. So, I knew, the fans in attendance knew, the Raiders radio commentators knew, those with a brain knew that the Lions would have to pass the ball. And what do the Raiders do? Play Tampa 2; allowing deep passes underneath the umbrella coverage.

Then on the last play of the game, the defense stayed in the same coverage and didn't double Megatron as he sat there all lone deep in the endzone...uncovered.

Bresnahan...the final Al Davis era hold over. Bresnahan should be shown the door by lunchtime today! That defensive scheme was pathetic at best.

Play Tampa 2; allowing deep passes underneath the umbrella coverage.

Then on the last play of the game, the defense stayed in the same coverage and didn’t double Megatron as he sat there all lone deep in the endzone…uncovered.

Bresnahan…the final Al Davis era hold over. Bresnahan should be shown the door by lunchtime today! That defensive scheme was pathetic at best.
