So your saying that the media controls what will happen on the field? Nice reasoning. Last time I checked, hype doesn’t translate into results. Too many GMs,fans,pundits believe in self-fulfilling prophecy.

Odds are Peyton will handle retiring with a lot more class, but nobody has asked him to retire yet. Just because Luck is the QB in waiting it doesn’t mean Peyton is just going to hand it over in 2-3 years.

As much as I like Manning, the Colts would be doing the smart thing by letting him go and starting over with a top rated rookie. Does anyone think they’re serious contenders next year even if Peyton comes back 100%?

You can’t exactly compare Brady and Luck. Brady was drafted in the 6th round, and he sat on the bench because he was lucky ANYONE picked him up after he had the worst performance at the Combine. He played only because Bledsoe was injured.

Unfortunately Luck is already choosen to be the next “god of the NFL” by these media folks. And since they believe they have their fingers on the pulse of America, there is no way they are going to allow Luck to fail. Especially, since they are giving other QBs like Blaine Gabbert and Tim Tebow, who they feel are not in the Luck realm of superiority, every chance to succeed in the NFL. There is no way in God’s name Luck will fail unless he just downright stinks and become a Ryan Leaf.

Also, I’m sure Luck being part of CAA shouldn’t come as a surprise if and when he does sign with them. It seems any athlete who signs with that organization automatically goes to the head of class whatever position they play in the NFL, especially in the eyes of the elite sports media.

Luck isn’t chosen to be the “God of the NFL”, the quarterbacking has been unbearably bad , because too many teams lack o-lines, a competent GM or have no receivers. They are selling him that because Brady and Manning are eventually fading and it has to be a Quarterback’s league (fortunately Cam Newton is succeeding and they need Luck to be the next franchise QB)

Its good for the league. Bad for long suffering teams who could really use a franchise changing identity (like Cleveland, Buffalo, Miami, etc.)
