For all the love of the Saints, their pass D is giving up 256 yd per game (28th) while NE’s is giving up 296 per game. For all of that, New Orleans has given up more points than the Patriots this year while playing a weaker schedule. Their stable of backs are good, but let’s not go crazy here. Their offense is good, but they have only scored 20 more points than the Pats (and much of that was in running up the score on the Colts). They are also in the negative on the giveaway/takeaway ratio. That’s never a good thing.

You people cry too much after these power rankings. That’s pretty lame. If Drew Brees is going to pass for 500 yards on the Pats defense, Brady can do the same to the Saints defense. Saints defense isn’t much better…maybe you losers should read stats for once. Brady would take out the Saints. This isn’t 2009, when Brady just had Moss & Welker.

Faider fans, is it better to be 4-12 and miss the playoffs or 7-9, be without a 1st and 2nd round pick, have 3 average QB’s on your team, and miss the playoffs? The answer to the football world is 4-12, then you get one of the top QB’s in next years draft. Huey has all you trolls believing 7-9, without a draft is better… Oh, and Campbell is better than Palmer and you have no 1st rounder next year to show for it… It will be hard watching your 2nd best QB take the reigns next year… Won’t it?

Actually this probbbbbably isn’t true considering if that were true the Packers wouldn’t still be #1 because they played like crap against a crappy team and lost – and the Eagles would be way higher because they played like an actual playoff team for once (however this would never happen because apparently this write just hates the Eagles and all of Philadelphia and everything to do with it for some weird reason). This most likely takes the week into account along with the way the team has played all season.

my rankings:

1 packers
2 niners
3 saints
4 pats
5 steelers
6 ravens

niners are def the second best team in the nfl right now. last year in week 2 the saints came to sf for a monday night showdown and everyone had the saints winning by a blowout and niners handled them well. scored in the 4th quarter to take the lead but left too much time for breers and the saints offense. this year, niners defense is way way better and alex smith is better as well. also, saints lost vs the rams when the rams were winless. niners shutout the rams 26-0. saints lost to the buccs. niners DESTROYED the buccs 45-3. i understand that theres still a lot of doubters out there but thats called “hating”. i mean, what else do the niners have to do to prove to you all that theyre pretty darn good??? best scoring defense, best rushing defense, have not allowed a rushing td all year, first in takeways, first in turnover ratio, the fewest turnovers, second in INT’s and more…its all good though, ya’ll keep doubting the niners, we’ll keep proving you wrong every week till we get to the NFC championship game vs the packers…be afraid GB, be very afraid…

Something about watching the 9ers win a meaningful MNF game against a good team at Candlestick Park just feels right. Even as a 49ers fan I felt for Big Ben last night. If he isn’t right, he’s kinda wrong.

Also, Max Starks had a great game at left Tackle huh? Aldon Smith is a young stud, but big Max made him look like a HOFer.

I’ll take TJ Yates over a gimpy Big Ben…this weeks Texans loss was the first loss to an opp with less than a .500 record and after 7 straight wins we were due an emotional let down…and now there are tw0 9 win teams ahead of us, ok? better now than in playoffs….bring on the ravens, steelers, jets, bengals….better match ups than high scoring teams like Pats or chargers for Houston….

love the confidence of ravens fan…we played you close early this season you sure you wanna bet on an easy win home field or not…..Ravens WERE a dominant defense but NOW they are a good defense and average offense on a team with losses to Seattle, tennessee and jacksonville….that shouldn’t scare anyone

keep counting the TEXANS out and see what happens

There’s a chance 2 of the NFC playoff games will be better than the Super Bowl if the Niners and Saints play in round two, then the winner of that plays the Packers in the NFC championship. I think he’s only counting the games that have been played in Cincinnati since 2001. I checked the records and the Bengals are currently up 6-4 against the Ravens in Cinci since then.

An astute observation and so very true. However, football is a game about real estate acquisition and good teams don’t turn the ball over.

What happens when the Patriots play a good team that acquires a lot of yards AND takes care of the football? I think we all agree, that defense must rise above itself and play better than it has all year in January for the team to get to Indianapolis.

And Carson Palmer doesn’t play defense– defense blew the Denver/Detriot games while he was QB. They should be 9-5– defense is the problem not CP. Raiders need to purge the defensive coaching staff– and remake the secondary this offseason.

Palmer might not be elite but he’s very good- top 10 NFL QB when healthy.

Palmer has been up and down but without trade they would be 4-10. Kyle Boller is AWFUL.

The trade might not produce playoffs this year but it should in 2012 and beyond. Judge it then.

I’m still no getting you putting the Dolphins at 21. Behind the Chiefs at 14. They beat them 31-3 at Kansas City. Then you have the Raiders at 19. The Dolphins were beating them 34-0, before giving up 2 meanless TD at the end of the game. SMH.
