So just because Revis covered these guys for parts of the game you automatically blame him for every single 1 of those catches and yards, regardless of who was defending the receiver on those plays? Hmm, makes a lot of sense to me. Especially those Austin yards on a play that was a TD with 1 on 1 coverage against Cromartie. Or maybe that long pass to Welker in zone coverage where the safety Smith had him deep.

By your idiotic reasoning, each cornerback on a team is responsible for for all the opposing receivers yards in a game as long as he covered him for at least 1 play. So if the Cowboys have 200 yards passing and the jets used 4 DB’s who all at one point covered each receiver, they are responsible as a group for 800 yards passing? Seems like intelligence and math aren’t your strong points!

You can look at box scores all you want, but apparently you dont watch the games or bother to find out about them. Yes, anyone can say without a doubt Welker was shut down by far the most by Revis in week 5. 1 catch for 3 yards, thats it! If you dont believe me go back and watch the game or go to the pro football focus website where they analyze this stuff every week.

Have you been watching football at all the last 3 years? Revis has completely annihilated and removed from games the best receivers in the game, a lot of times without any help. Unless you are telling me Calvin Johnson (1 catch, 14 yards) Vincent Jackson (1 catch, 15 yards), Andre Johnson (50 yards receiving in 2 games combined), Reggie Wayne (1 catch, 1 yard), Steve Smith (1 catch, 5 yards), Roddy White (2 catches, 25 yards), Marques Colston (3 catches, 33 yards), Wes Welker (1 catch for 3 yards, yes everyone with eyes know eric smith blew the coverage) aren’t great receivers then maybe you have a point.

Then you have to factor in that he plays the biggest in the biggest games, playoff games, which includes some from the above Wayne (1 catch for 1 yard, and 5 catches for 55 yards ), Ocho Cinco 2 catches for 22 yards), Hines Ward (2 catches for 33 yards) and arguably his best game against the chargers where they mixed and matched him against Floyd, Jackson, and even Gates and gave up 0 catches for 0 yards, including an INT where he was lying on the ground.

How do you like them apples? Kind of hard to call a guy overrated who everyone other than people who hate the Jets know he is the best in the business, all pro selections and being by far the higest rated corner in the poll of top 100 players voted by the players. The only other guy who is close is Woodson, who makes more impact plays but is less of a true shutdown corner. Nnamdi has been exposed as a joke this year, after going his whole career in Oakland being the best 2nd string wide receiver shut down corner in football (you can call him mr. I only cover one side of the field).

In this day and age of passing offenses and rules benefitting receivers, he’s one of the few true coverage guys out there. He’s beatable, but you’re a lot better off if you’re the Giants working one of your other big guns against Cromartie or trying to attack the Jets’ slow linebackers and safeties.

Asomugha and Samuel have been exposed in Philly. Revis is the best corner in the game, followed closely now by Brandon Flowers in KC.

Remind us again, is this year three or four that your HC “guaranteed” the Jets would win the Super Bowl? Is that how you become a “legit” organization in your eyes? Claim you’re going to win and never make even make it to the game?

Don’t get me wrong; Revis is good. But if he gets away with WAY too much PI. If the officials ever decide to start calling it on him, he’ll probably get benched.

There are a bunch of corners that I would take before him, simply because they shut receivers down without help from the officials.

And I despise the Pats, so I root for the Jets in the AFC East.
