What happened the last game with the Jets and da byrds? The game plan was to attack the LB's and safeties, and run the football. Stay away from Revis. What did the Jets Wr's do against Nhamdi and Asante, other than the one acrobatic catch for a TD by Plax? The Giants would be idiots to attack Revis, just as the best way to attack the byrds is the LB's and safeties, who are imrovinga long with all the defensive players. So you idiots who think you can attack Revis, or the Eagles corners consistently, go ahead and try it. See if you can throw the ball all game on these guys. Attack the weakneeses until they stop you, that is what you do, Eli will throw picks under pressure, against a good secondary, and without throwing to RB or TE underneath, and running the ball, they will lose.

Lot of juice for this game. You can't ask for anything more than both teams being in it and it being a meaningful game. If you commented specifically to say Revis is overrated, ur kinda dumb.....Plain and simple. Now, the Jets defense as a whole IS overrated this year. Cruz is a fine receiver. Fast and a good route runner. Came out of nowhere too. A far as the smack talk coming from both sides, it makes it fun. Don't get insulted by it. They say much worse to each other during the game. Physical game like football has some crazy bastards out there and that's how they get their edge.

All the holes in the Jets defense you can exploit, but you choose the greatest DB of all time? Shows how stupid the Giants are, and why you will probably miss the playoffs (again) instead of making noise in it.

Revis can shut Cruz down cause we will let "the sun" shut down Nicks. If you were smart, you would use your "not Kevin Boss" TE to beat us, but he sucks and I think he's not playing anyway.

Giants fans, get ready for your re tarded QB to have that stupid, disappointed look on his face.

owens3181:

All I could say is maybe you should try following another sport, like maybe basketball? Your comment doesnt even seem like a lack of football intelligence issue, it seems more like a lack of common sense issue. You listed receivers against the Jets this year that Revis covered for parts of the game. So just because Revis covered these guys for parts of the game you automatically blame him for every single 1 of those catches and yards, regardless of who was defending the receiver on those plays? Hmm, makes a lot of sense to me. Especially those Austin yards on a play that was a TD with 1 on 1 coverage against Cromartie. Or maybe that long pass to Welker in zone coverage where the safety Smith had him deep.

By your idiotic reasoning, each cornerback on a team is responsible for for all the opposing receivers yards in a game as long as he covered him for at least 1 play. So if the Cowboys have 200 yards passing and the jets used 4 DB's who all at one point covered each receiver, they are responsible as a group for 800 yards passing? Seems like intelligence and math aren't your strong points!

You can look at box scores all you want, but apparently you dont watch the games or bother to find out about them. Yes, anyone can say without a doubt Welker was shut down by far the most by Revis in week 5. 1 catch for 3 yards, thats it! If you dont believe me go back and watch the game or go to the pro football focus website where they analyze this stuff every week.

frankdatank23 :

Have you been watching football at all the last 3 years? Revis has completely annihilated and removed from games the best receivers in the game, a lot of times without any help. Unless you are telling me Calvin Johnson (1 catch, 14 yards) Vincent Jackson (1 catch, 15 yards), Andre Johnson (50 yards receiving in 2 games combined), Reggie Wayne (1 catch, 1 yard), Steve Smith (1 catch, 5 yards), Roddy White (2 catches, 25 yards), Marques Colston (3 catches, 33 yards), Wes Welker (1 catch for 3 yards, yes everyone with eyes know eric smith blew the coverage) aren't great receivers then maybe you have a point.

Then you have to factor in that he plays the biggest in the biggest games, playoff games, which includes some from the above Wayne (1 catch for 1 yard, and 5 catches for 55 yards ), Ocho Cinco 2 catches for 22 yards), Hines Ward (2 catches for 33 yards) and arguably his best game against the chargers where they mixed and matched him against Floyd, Jackson, and even Gates and gave up 0 catches for 0 yards, including an INT where he was lying on the ground.

How do you like them apples? Kind of hard to call a guy overrated who everyone other than people who hate the Jets know he is the best in the business, all pro selections and being by far the higest rated corner in the poll of top 100 players voted by the players. The only other guy who is close is Woodson, who makes more impact plays but is less of a true shutdown corner. Nnamdi has been exposed as a joke this year, after going his whole career in Oakland being the best 2nd string wide receiver shut down corner in football (you can call him mr. I only cover one side of the field).

i'm a pats fan.... and Revis is NOT overrated.

In this day and age of passing offenses and rules benefitting receivers, he's one of the few true coverage guys out there. He's beatable, but you're a lot better off if you're the Giants working one of your other big guns against Cromartie or trying to attack the Jets' slow linebackers and safeties.

Asomugha and Samuel have been exposed in Philly. Revis is the best corner in the game, followed closely now by Brandon Flowers in KC.

Anyone doubting just how good Revis is probably doesnt watch football. Revis has as many plays on the ball (INT's and batted down passes) as he does receptions given up. No one in the game comes close to shutting a WR down the way he does. Rex Ryan is definitely annoying, but that doesnt mean Revis isnt the best in the business.

Remind us again, is this year three or four that your HC "guaranteed" the Jets would win the Super Bowl? Is that how you become a "legit" organization in your eyes? Claim you're going to win and never make even make it to the game?

greymares - Here's a hint, if you want to talk about people's intelligence, you may want to check your spelling and punctuation BEFORE you post. You seem to have endless trouble with the difference between your and you're. BTW - how has your brilliant that prediction you made after the Chicago loss that the Eagles would win out the season been working out for you? Of course, that was after you hid for a week after the Giants won. That gutless act told us ALL we needed to know about you.

lobacz87

I almost forgot KC held him to 2 catches. They probably had Brandon Flowers on him.

Don't get me wrong; Revis is good. But if he gets away with WAY too much PI. If the officials ever decide to start calling it on him, he'll probably get benched.

There are a bunch of corners that I would take before him, simply because they shut receivers down without help from the officials.

And I despise the Pats, so I root for the Jets in the AFC East.
