Hurd “wants to show everyone the truth” about him

Sam Hurd

Now that the initial shock of Sam Hurd’s arrest last week has worn off, the now-former Bears receiver is ready to settle in for a protracted legal fight over drug dealing charges.

“He’s really anxious to get out and face these charges. He wants to fight these charges because he wants to show everybody the truth about what’s going on and he wants to show everybody the truth about him,” Hurd’s lawyer Brett Greenfield said on ESPN Chicago, via SportsRadioInterviews.com.

The federal prosecutors seem to have a strong case against Hurd. Greenfield is not talking about his plan of defense just yet.

“I can’t really get into the facts. I’m sort of learning facts as you are learning facts. I had an affidavit dropped on me ten minutes before court yesterday with a plate of things that supposedly Sam said, but I think hopefully the case and we got into the discovery and get into motions we will be able to see the truths,” Greenfield said.

Hurd’s NFL career is surely over. He better hope his lawyer is better at his job than Hurd was at being a drug dealer.
