Seahawks fans: maybe you missed it. Monday night, the Niners laid 20 on the Steelers. Are you guys saying that the Hawks D is better than the Steelers D? And, they held the Steelers to 3 points. Are you guys pretending that the Hawks O is better than the Steelers O?

Just a reminder. Tell us - who has the assignment of keeping Aldon Smith away from your QB? The Niners O-line just held the Steelers D to no sacks. Do you think your Hawks are better at rushing the passer than the Steelers?

I know everyone thinks this is going to be close. I wouldn't be surprised if the Niners break a bunch of hearts on Saturday. The Cards slapped them in the face a couple weeks ago and they came back and just stuck it to the Steelers. I don't think they let down for this one. There's too much at stake.

shecklesmckenzie says:
My point was that the Jets pass defense has been pretty solid this season and that Vick had an OK game in the air, but not great. Plus, most of his yards came from the TE Celek, so their secondary did a pretty good job.

howley1 says:

Fumble return for a TD, four rushing TDs and a field goal. Why is this so hard for you?
---------------------------------------------------------

And Vick throwing for 15 of 22 for 274 had nothing to do with setting those up?

Really, did you kids just start watching football this year?

sbxxix says: I think for Xmas the NFL should start a new tradition were only teams with red or green jersey play each other. I can think of a few good games already

Super Bowl I rematch ( not to mention this years upset) KC vs GB

Giants (red jerseys) vs Eagles

Patriots (red jerseys) vs Jets

Miami (all green Uniforms) vs AZ (all red uniforms)"

Aren't the Dolphins' uniforms "teal" or "aqua" or somesuch? More in the blue family, I think. The all-red Cardinals are going to have to play the Seahawks in their bright green Alternates. Also, it keeps it within the Division. This just gets better and better!

How exactly will Seattle score against Frisco?
-------------------------------

They scored 17 in week one. Yeah, the final was 33-17, but it was a lot closer than that. It was a 2-point game with 4:30 to go when Ginn broke it open with 2 kick returns for TDs.

The Seattle offensive line is a lot better than it was week one. The only thing I don't like is not having Okung for this game. He did very well against Aldon Smith in college.

Going to be a cold, wet Northwest day on Saturday....good football weather. Should be a good game.

Hey, NFL, when you make up your opening-week Monday Night doubleheader next year, maybe have this as the "late" matchup? These are two young teams, and are going to be going at each other for a number of years. It's a rivalry to watch.

Seattle is a good team, and this whole NFC West being the worst applied last year - but what a difference a season makes. Unfortunately for the Rams, the injuries were too much to overcome given their youth.

By no means is this division the best, but it's far from the worst - and the record proves it when looking at how our division plays against others - not just within it.

To have San Fran @ 6-2 against the NFC East + AFC North speaks volumes for credability. The Cardinals peaked a little too late.

Seattle will present a very tough challenge especially at home. The final score in the season opener is decieving - had it not been for two late speacial teams td's, we were only nursing a 1 point lead.

Granted a lot has changed for both teams since, so i expect a close one; the winner being the team with the fewest mistakes.

Should be a good one, and i hope for no injuries.

"Oh, so the Jets WON, 19-7 then????

The Jets defense gave up 45 points to the Iggles.

Vick was 15-22 for 274 yards, and they gained just 160 on the ground.

Where do you suppose those 38 other points came from; Santa Claus?"

Fumble return for a TD, four rushing TDs and a field goal. Why is this so hard for you?

By being better than you (and the Giants, Eagles, Ravens & Bears) give them credit for.

Seattle is improved, but none of the teams you mentioned have a better D than SF. And SF beat the Giants and Eagles too.

There is no question that this will be a tough game for the 49ers, and there is a reasonable chance they lose. But if they bring their A-game, they will win.

richm2256: Oh, so the Jets WON, 19-7 then????

The Jets defense gave up 45 points to the Iggles.

Vick was 15-22 for 274 yards, and they gained just 160 on the ground.

Where do you suppose those 38 other points came from; Santa Claus?

No, the Eagles did score 45 points, just not through the air. Didn't mean to get you worked up. The original point was about the Jets pass defense and that it is definitely the strength of their D this season, and you said that the pass defense gave up 45 points. My point was that the Jets pass defense has been pretty solid this season and that Vick had an OK game in the air, but not great. Plus, most of his yards came from the TE Celek, so their secondary did a pretty good job.

shecklesmckenzie says:
Jets are #7 in yards allowed this year and have only given up 13 touchdown passes. Also, last week, Vick had 274 yards and 1 throwing touchdown. So, THAT pass defense did not give up 45 points, it gave up 7.

The stat for losers. The Pats are on pace to give up more YPG than any team in NFL history, and they are 15 points awy from being undefeated.

How is that AFC East race working out for the Jests?

TJack is playing much better now than he was week 1 @SF. He threw 2 TD passes in that game, right? And didn't John Skelton throw for 3 TDs in the Niners previous road game?

A better question might be "How exactly will Frisco score against Seattle?".

Considering that game is being played tonight, it definitely will be a final by 2:45 Saturday afternoon. :-)
