Meh. I wouldn’t even give him credit for that. The Browns’ D under Ryan was the same as the Cowboys D under Ryan is now: Play hard until the 4th quarter, and then fold faster than Superman on laundry day. Be a brick wall for 3 quarters and then turn into swiss cheese when it really counts. Same old Rob Ryan defense.

When did Rob have a great defense? Which great defensive coaches has he worked with? Which marginal players has he made productive?

He also talks too much nonsense. Rex will talk up his team and make (often lame, but harmless) jokes about opponents from time to time, but he’s not hostile like Rob can be. It isn’t endearing and I think he needs to run a dominant defense before he even warrants serious consideration for a Head Coaching gig.

The Eagles are irrelevant. It’s really simple. Cowboys beat the Giants and they win the division. The Eagles game matters only if the Giants lose to the Jets, in which case it gives the Cowboys a chance to lock up the division a week earlier.
