Mike McCarthy doesn’t expect Greg Jennings back until playoffs

Raiders Packers Football AP

The Packers will play again this week without Greg Jennings and it doesn’t sound likely he’ll be back next week either.

“I think Greg Jennings will be challenged to play next week vs. Detroit,” McCarthy said via the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

That’s McCarthian for there is absolutely no chance Jennings will suit up in what should be a meaningless game for the Packers against Detroit. Green Bay will then have a bye, and expect their best receiver back for the playoffs.

“I don’t think there will be any question that he will play in the playoffs. That’s the early diagnosis based on talking to the medical staff,” McCarthy said.

The Packers are without tackles Bryan Bulaga and Chad Clifton on Sunday. Defensive tackle Ryan Pickett is out again because of a concussion; he may be the key to Green Bay’s faltering run defense.

Green Bay will get James Starks back in the mix against the Bears. He’s probable. If ever there was a game to limit the amount of times Aaron Rodgers dropped back to pass, this would seem to be it.

Yeah, we’ve known that since the injury happened.

Packers will still be passing quite a bit. It’s what they do. But no doubt most of them will be fast routes. They also should be looking to get Cobb more touches in more ways. The kid is quicker than a Kardashian heading for a camera.

The Packers have a lot of flaws for a team that’s 13-1. Injuries will definitely not help their case. Specially on the offensive side of the ball since their offense is their real defense. Don’t take it the wrong way Packers fans, I’m just keeping it real. If your offense doesn’t get healthy you guys could be in some trouble.

SBXXIX is right on the money. I have hope that the defense will some how turn on a switch come playoff time and dramatically improve their performance. They’ve been mostly porous this season with a few strong performances (DET, CHI) mixed in. I wouldn’t have any confidence in the packers if they had to go to new orleans in the playoffs, but that can’t happen.

Beyond the defense, the other concern is that the offensive production has been pretty uneven the last few weeks, with the exception of the first half against the Raiders. Last week against the Chiefs, it seemed like the KC defense knew exactly what the Packers were going to do on every play whereas KC had receivers running wide open all over the field. Troubling to say the least.

——————————————————————————————————————————- in flaws are you saying our practice squad off- tackles aren’t that good? cuz we’ve lost 3 off-tackles so far. yes we have flaws, most teams do? i don’t believe we have alot of them though. any team down to there left guard playing tackle is gonna have a few problems…. and yes besides clay, my grandma could generate more of a pass rush. (probably with some milk and cookies) but other than the lack of pass rush and the injuries to the o-line i don’t think we have alot of holes. please describe all of them?

Packer fan from birth here….and even I can’t stand the celebrations after a catch…..after dropping 2 passes prior.

I asked someone if Finley’s worth a new deal and he said Finley would sign it but drop the pen before doing so.
