It sounds like LeSean McCoy’s ankle injury will be severe enough to keep him out of the team’s season finale.
At least McCoy seemed to think so after Philly’s win on Saturday. It appears McCoy won’t be able to challenge the Eagles’ franchise mark for rushing yards held by Wilbert Montgomery.
“Montgomery, he’s probably smiling right now,” McCoy said via Bob Grotz of the Delaware County Times. “I’ll get it next year – hopefully.”
McCoy’s chances for a league rushing title have also gone up in smoke. Maurice Jones-Drew leads McCoy by more than 100 yards.
Sunday’s game could be the last one for DeSean Jackson in Philadelphia. If the Eagles are going to give up big money to one of their young skill position talents, LeSean McCoy looks like the better option.
