new york jet fan. predictions many made of the jets mediocrity seem kinda right now. and playoffs and super bowls are not the same. but if someone says the jets are horrible and you know they accomplished something in the last two years that very few teams equalled or exceeded, you can and should ‘pipe up’ about it. how is it that you people can’t get that?
over the last 43 years ALL teams have exceeded the jets accomplishments. who cares? i care about the next game (next year) against new england, the ravens. i’ll care about the rest when we’re up to it.
(not everyone thinks like rex but it’s been pretty great to have him too.)

Uh, what? Stop right there. Do you even watch Jets games? What part of making Mark Sanchez throw 64 times constitutes “amazing?”What part of the Pittsburgh goal line fiasco constitutes “amazing?” What part of only once having a sub 16th ranked offense throughout his entire tenure constitutes “amazing?”

The guy is a fool, the Giants safetys played 5 yards ahead of the first down marker for a large part of the game. He couldn’t coordinate to save his life and he shows it nearly every Sunday. When the guy is on, he’s on, but that almost never happens.

But he has done an amazing job with a terrible QB. With defenses completely disrespecting the pass and a QB who is incapable of playing at a NFL he has done well.

The entire offense is designed around keeping Sanchez from making game changing mistakes. Despite that Shotty has done a very nice job of usingt he run to set up play action passes especially at the goal line.

The OC is always blamed. Hackett did an great job with the Jets but ook all the blame. The same thing si happening now with Shotty.

Sanchez isn’t a good QB at all but that could also be because Schottenheimer hasn’t helped him develop at all. He’s a horrible OC and if a team wants him as a HC, then that team has the dumbest front office in the NFL. I’d be shocked if someone hires him as an HC and then I’d probably die of laughter as the team finishes with a below .500 record. Now that I think about it, please someone hire this guy so he can be out of the NFL in 3 years (anybody thinking Dolphins?)

His offense has been absolutely terrible, and not only that, the playcalling has been the worst in the entire NFL, on top of that he failed to adjust to that. He doesn’t know how to utilize his players, at all. When you have a good defense and a good running game you don’t throw the ball 60 times with a QB like Sanchez.

Nobody would offer the guy a job as a coordinator. Let a lone as a headcoach. Absurd. If not for his name he wouldn’t even be in the NFL.

I don’t think he’s done anything to distinguish himself or show he deserves to be a HC in the NFL. Maybe at some point in the future but at this point in time…no way.
