Chiefs re-sign Siler to one-year extension

The Chiefs are getting some housekeeping done before the end of the year.

They signed kicker Ryan Succop to a contract extension on Friday, and did the same with linebacker Brandon Siler on Saturday.

Siler’s agent David Canter broke the news on Twitter. It’s a one-year deal.

This is basically a “do over” for Siler after he missed all of 2011 with a torn Achilles’ tendon. Siler had a chance to start in Kansas City, but got hurt during the preseason.

Is he a OLB or a ILB?

I think Siler was slated to play inside to unseat Belcher. Belcher is kind of small to play on the strong side and seems to get shoved around quite a bit.

What is more concerning is that Carr remains unsigned. He played exceptionally well last year and has been solid, though unspectacular, this year. I don’t know that he was able to play his game with one unreliable safety position. I would think that KC is going to tag either Bowe or Carr, and my thought is that Carr will be the one. Bowe can be a headache and Haley seemed to be the first one to get through to him. I worry that Crennel, like Edwards, is too much of a player’s coach and would be too soft on Bowe to get anything special out of him.

This guy is a consistent force on the goal line. Stupid of AJ to cut him when the Chargers needed so much ILB help.

played well here in SD, but coming off and injury gonna have to wait and see..we wanted him back in SD always liked his game.. it sucks cause injuries like that can go down hill quickly as it tends to get injured again! best of luck to him except when the chiefs play the chargers!
