The Colts entered Sunday’s game needing to lose in order to win. And they did.
With a 19-13 defeat in Jacksonville, the Colts have locked up the first overall pick in the 2012 draft, via a 2-14 record. Which means that they’ll have dibs on Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck.
The victory for the Jaguars, which in three days will be owned by Shad Khan (pictured), means that Luck will be in the AFC South for 10 to 15 years, if the Colts pick him -- and if he doesn’t make a power play for a trade.
Either way, the foundation is in place for one of the biggest stories of the 2012 offseason: the intertwined futures, short-term or long-term, of Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck.
