Getty ImagesA win might not get the Falcons the fifth seed in the NFC, but they aren’t leaving anything up to doubt in Atlanta.
While the Lions and Packers battle in Green Bay, the Falcons have jumped out to a 21-0 lead over the Buccaneers in the first quarter. Matt Ryan and Julio Jones have hooked up for a pair of touchdowns, the defense has picked off Josh Freeman and a rout is well underway at the Georgia Dome. The Falcons’ intensity might drop if the Lions pull out their game, but the Falcons clearly want to make sure they take care of business on their end.
As for the Bucs, if the first quarter is any indication of how they plan to end the season, this is likely the last game of the Raheem Morris era.

Matt Ryan = Mediocre QB.
Looking good so far. Keep it up for the rest of the game.
atlanta will beat ny next week and then get smacked around in gb in two weeks. det/NO will be a toss up…..the winner will go to SF and knock them out.
The Bucs may fire Morris at half time. He has lost the team and he is lost. He was a bad choice three years ago and the team has taken leaps backward.
They. Are. Awful.
actually the lions cant go to SF. my bad. the saints should win anyway and they’ll crush the niners.
So they’re going to pull their starters, right? We wouldn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings by running up the score.
I’d like to hear a Shaun King follow up interview. I am sure he has some enlightening comments on this tremendous Bucs effort.
Tampa has been running on fumes for a while now. It’s pathetic to see a team and coaching staff play with such little pride. They should all be docked pay for the disgrace they’ve put on the field the past two months.
