Not a good move. He’s following a legend….everything he does will be compared to what Paterno did. He coming in following a really nasty scandal that is still playing itself out and will carry a black cloud over the University for many more years. Recruiting will be a problem because of it. No kid wants to go to “Didler – U”. Not the right time.

Not true. As great as Brady is, he doesn’t have even half the responsibilities Manning had. As for the PSU job, I wish O’Brien luck…he’s going to need it.

Penn State is desperate. They’ll take anyone that will even talk to them. Big mess that nobody needs to get involved with.

Another report in CFT says that Clements and interim Bradley have had second interviews. Nobody really wants that job.

Why hasn’t anybody learned yet? Any offensive coordinator will look great with Tom Brady throwing the ball.

Awful all around… This looks bad for the Pats and their reputation for taking care of their coordinators. O’Brien aside, they don’t really like to pay them as much as other teams…BB would rather pay some mining college coach some scraps, coming up through the system, rather than paying for quality. It’s almost like BB’s draft philosophy.

As for O’Brien…I don’t think he’s nearly as revered around the NE area as Weis or McDaniels was…and rightfully so. I think it would be a bad move at this stage.

He’s not ready yet for a head coaching job, too raw and emotional at the moment. If he does take this job, I wish him luck against 10 Big 10 teams. Bill O’Brien though, really Penn State? That’s the best you can come up with?

O’brien should just remember who he works for, who his qb is, and how many successful careers other ex-NE coordinators had after leaving
