Wow! Are we really comparing two injured quarterbacks, one who didn’t have an off-season to “warm up” to his new team vs. a previous back up who pulled this two pony show through ANOTHER harrowing season?
We might witness BOTH QBs rise to greatness if the offensive line can straighten out left from right. Don’t blame them, we might need to look further up the bleachers in search for that answer!
(However, Grabbing fortune out of thin air is a good commodity.)

I stated no facts in that comment so there were none to “check”. Do you understand what opinions are? Kolb did not show he was worth the money. He may work out eventually but not this year. I could throw out a bunch of “facts” that show Kolb is a mediocre QB right now but I won’t. Your last statement could easily apply to Kolb as well. Time will tell.

At the end of the day the Kolb trade/signing was necessary as Fitzgerald hand picked him & wouldn’t sign an extension without a “quarterback”. In hindsight, I’m sure he wished he hadn’t as we’d still have a 2nd & DRC but as a Cardinals fan I’m not complaining because we have Larry & those best hands in the NFL for another few years

Maybe check your facts before spouting crap about one QB being better than another?

John Skelton – 11 TDs, 14 INTs, 54.9 Comp%, 68.9 QBR
Kevin Kolb – 9 TDs, 8 INTs, 57.7 Comp%, 81.1% QBR

Even with a limited off-season and in a system completely new to him, Kolb is clearly the better QB. Plus, he was playing against better teams (Giants, Steelers, Ravens, Cowboys)

Skelton has been in the system for 2 years yet only ONE of his CAREER wins have come against a team who’s above .500.

Skelton is so good that the constantly over-throws wide open receivers, can’t generate a first down, and throws too many picks. If the Cardinals had a WR with less than Fitzgeralds talents, he’d have had more than 14 INTs.

Skelton is a good back-up nothing more.

You guys are writing off Kolb after he had no offseason and was injured all year? Skelton knew the system. I say you can’t call Kolb a bust until he has an offseason to train with his team. This is a guy that destroyed the Falcons last year, and did enough to beat the Titans until Ellis Hobbs let Kenny Britt go all Randy Moss on the Eagles.

No comparison. Kolb’s reputation was 95% based upon Andy Reid’s talking him up to the press. Kolb’s average QB rating in Philly was 62.2 and he had more int’s than td’s.

Flynn’s reputation is 100% based upon his performance on the field. The only time McCarthy talks him up is after another big game by the kid.

Not saying Flynn will be the QB he was yesterday for his whole career, but I if I was a GM I would consider a much better bet than Kolb.

They will def. have a QB controversy, but I just wanted to point out that it was Fitz who lobbied for Arizona to get Kolb. Kolb also suffered from turf toe through the season.

Skins fan here, After watching that guy yesterday play football, he has to be one of the best ever. He has heart, amazing ability, and class. Cardinal fans should be thankful for Fitz. @cornersportsnet That’s a darn good question. I say neither. Drop Kolb. Bring someone else in to compete with Skelton in the preseason, or even draft a QB (there will be someone available in the draft even that late… I don’t care about common perception; there are QBs other than RGIII and Luck that have potential).

Fitz probably had the quietest monster season ever. I’m not saying that just because it’s the Cardinals. It just feels like he wasn’t doing much most of the year (no doubt because of the QB handicap). He started willing his team toward the end of the season. Have to give the guy plenty of credit for the Cardinal turnaround.

I said it before the trade and I’ll say it again. Kolb is better than Skelton, however so is Orton. Orton was a lot cheaper. Could’ve kept DRC and the 2nd rounder. Orton would have coated them a 3rd round pick and a bag of balls. Skelton could’ve developed just like he did this season. The defense is good now. Would be really good with a real corner opposite Peterson.

If this team goes back to Kevin Kolb next year they’re out of their minds. Kolb obviously stinks, and if you read between the lines every player on that team supports Skelton over Kolb.
