Ahmad Bradshaw doesn’t practice for Giants, Jake Ballard does

Eli Manning could be getting another target back in time for Sunday’s playoff game with the Falcons.

Tight end Jake Ballard, who missed the last two games of the regular season with a knee injury, got back on the practice field Wednesday. Ballard was limited and, per Jorge Castillo of the Newark Star-Ledger, will get a better idea of his chances of playing during Thursday’s session.

“From last to this week, I definitely feel a lot more confident in my knee,” Ballard said. “I’ll be taking a lot more reps tomorrow and I’ll have more of an idea of what’s going to happen.”

Another key Giants offensive player wasn’t able to practice on Wednesday, however. Running back Ahmad Bradshaw wasn’t on the field and isn’t expected to practice until Friday. That’s nothing new for Bradshaw as his foot problems have limited his practice availability for much of the season but he’s been able to get on the field for each of the last five games.

If Bradshaw and Ballard can both play, the Giants will take the field on Sunday as healthy as they have been all season.

And they’ll still lose. Falcons can protect Ryan and they’ll destroy the giants secondary.

Keeping Matt Ryan on his feet is definitely going to be the key. That along with Grimes against Cruz or whoever they decide to put on him.

    Go Falcons!!

uhhh, ok. the two posters above me fail to recognize their bias, bigotry and anti ny sentiment. the giants are battle tested. they played the toughest schedule in the league.
this will be a tough, close game. one the falcons can win. but to make such blatant statements with no respect/regard for the other team is weak minded and ignorant.

  4. bearsstillsuck says: Jan 4, 2012 6:32 PM

Vman: does your mom play for the giants? Because there’s no reason to get so personal. It’s known the giants have a weak secondary and the falcons can take advantage of that if Ryan stays upright. Nobody is being a bigot.

Hey buddy, the Falcons secondary is pretty bad. Go back and watch the Saints game. Just sayin.

  6. bearsstillsuck says: Jan 4, 2012 7:26 PM

Are you comparing the saints offense to the giants? Especially when the saints are at home?

  7. beckzhere says: Jan 4, 2012 7:26 PM

Yes, the Falcons secondary is not the best. If Grimes doesnt play, we are doomed. This is going to be an extremely entertaining game to watch and can go either way. This game will be decided by 4 points or less and I hope the Falcons prevail.

Please don’t act like the Falcons are some amazing team that are way better than the Giants. Just like the Giants, the Falcons have only beaten one team with a winning record this season in the Detroit Lions. This will be a very competitive game and will probably go to the very end. And it’s much easier said than done to protect your QB with the likes of JPP, Osi and Tuck all playing on the same d-line.

You better watch out Giant receivers you’ll be playing against the cheap shot artist Dunta.

Exactly who have the Falcons beat? When has Matt Ryan won a play-off game? Welcome to the Northeast in January, Dome Team.

Lets take a good look at this the Falcons btw my mom used to drive a falcon I think it was a ford.

What did the Falcons give up for Jones how many draft picks?

What did the Giants give up for the #3 WR in all fo the NFL Cruz nothing he was a free agent.

The giants did not have to give up the world to give Easy E a target Eli and Cruz worked hard and became the great QB WR they are.

Wether on Sunday Rain and or Snow
That goes let me think yeah that would favor the home team.

The Giants D is as health as it has been all season
It will be a good game but do not think the Giants will roll over for mattie snow cone

u cant compare cruz and jolio. Cruz is a product of a awesome QB manning puts the ball where he can cach it, always. Julio is a freak athlethe, and is just a rookie. Give him 2 years like cruz then make that comment…..

Weather in NY for Sunday is 43 degrees with no rain/snow or wind. Not sure what that geek above is talking about. Neither one of these teams are any good but ATL is better.

  16. bigbluenationdb says: Jan 4, 2012 9:12 PM

Not sure how Atlanta is the better team. They managed to win one more game then NY with a much softer schedule.

Giants pass rush is much better then Atlanta. Eli will have all day to throw against a bad secondary. Atlanta has one pass rusher to worry about in Abraham.

Game comes down to the fourth quarter and I will take Eli anyday over Ryan.

Maybe you’ll see my team the following week. We’ve got a first round bye out here in SF.
    Ask Jacobs whos scared now.

Pass rush ruins games in January.

I dont care who is catching the ball.

The Giants are built better for this run.

    A town down.

For the record, the Giants beat the Pats (#1 seed) in Gillette. And the other 3 games they had against teams who finished over .500 were the ugly loss to NO (#3 seed), a very tight loss to SF (#2 seed), and an even tighter loss to GB (#1 seed).

Dallas WAS above .500 for both of the Giants wins, and Buffalo was real hot and above .500 when the Giants beat them. Let’s not forget that they beat Arizona and Philly, both respectable teams at 8-8, and they beat Miami just as they were putting together an end of season hot streak. Looking at a team’s final record doesn’t necessarily measure how good they were at a given point in the season.

Wow…lot of bruised toes on here. My original post of keeping Matt Ryan on his feet is a compliment to the giants defense. Did you think that I meant he’s clumsy and the turf monster was going to get him. I also gave props to Cruz.

People really ought to read the posts and not just spill out ignorance and personally attack others.
