Pierre-Paul is the NFC’s defensive player of the month

The NFL remains firmly down with JPP.

The second-year player, drafted in the first round a year ago as a project, was twice named the NFC’s defensive player of the week in December.  He now has been named the NFC’s defensive player of the month, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News.

I knew that I was going to have a great year this year,” Pierre-Paul told Vacchiano.  “I came in and last year [as a rookie] I had an alright season and I wanted to do better than what I did last year.  Next year, or next season in 2012, I should be better than this year.”

For the five games played in December and on January 1, Pierre-Paul had six sacks.  He also blocked a Dallas field goal that would have tied a key NFC East battle late in the game.

Cowboys, Eagles, Jets and Falcons fans will be giving thumbs up galore and making stupid comments like the one above, as if the Falcons have the ability to hold THIS offense to 10 points ha.

    JPP should be DPOY also.

    *Not a game changer.

*JPP carried the Giants D for ENTIRE GAMES at a time.

Great player!, but the sad part is that he makes Perry Fewell look better than the D coordinator that he is…

  8. oledezzers says: Jan 4, 2012 7:43 PM

whats with NYG and drafting HOF de’s?

  9. jasleach says: Jan 4, 2012 7:49 PM

Type ‘JPP flips’ into YouTube and check out the 2009 ibowl backflip contest. See for yourself just how athletic this beast is…

JPP has only scratched the surface of what he can do it. He could go down in Giants history as one of the greatest, right beside LT.

As for the comment about Fewell above. I questioned a lot of his calls this year but the man was working with scraps. If people haven’t noticed since Boley has returned the linebackers are blowing plays and coverages like before. I also don’t understand why Blackburn was released. He has played solid since returning.

As for the dline. Teams can pick their poison. Double JPP and leave Tuck and Osi 1 on 1. One of these three are going to see a lot of 1-1 opportunities. I like those odds.

What a freak of an athlete. I want to see him bust out the back flip in a game after making a big play. Preferably in the Super Bowl.

    Fixed it.

As a Giants’ fan, I couldn’t be happier that the Eagles traded up over us to take Bran-done Graham!!!!! Nice smoke-screen Reese pulled on those dumb birds.

  14. jakek2 says: Jan 4, 2012 8:20 PM

It won’t break my heart at all if Reese drafts another sick DE in the first round. Hell….I’ll go to bat with Eli, Nicks, Cruz our D-Line and 15 no-names all day every day!!

  15. texansfan2011 says: Jan 4, 2012 8:30 PM

    J. P.P. is one great player, and he play’s clean, keep doing it the right way……………

  16. KIR says: Jan 4, 2012 8:31 PM

Jason Pierre-Paul, Justin Tuck, Chris Canty and Osi Umenyiora is there a better D. Line? With a pass rush like and if Eli stays consistent they can beat any team.

    Jakek2, you got it.

  18. tuckyous says: Jan 4, 2012 8:48 PM

I think he’s implying that the Giants are going to release the KRAKEN all over Matty Ice.

  20. orthomarine says: Jan 4, 2012 9:41 PM

Say what you will about Jim Leavitt, but he could pick talent… JPP made USF proud and continues to represent us with class in the NFL

  21. bmcgrath2 says: Jan 4, 2012 9:59 PM

It is really too bad the Vikings only won 3 games this year. Jared Allen would be getting 10 times the recognition for his 22 sacks even if the Queens won around 7-8 games.

  22. raqaiw says: Jan 4, 2012 10:08 PM

JPP is playing great right now,but T-Sizzle has done it all,and that’s playing in this year’s toughest division(3 playoff teams,3 teams with winning records). Also unlike JPP Sizz doesn’t have another pass rushing beast opposite him like JPP(Tuck/Osi). Sizz is the DPOY this year.

  23. ppc50 says: Jan 4, 2012 10:11 PM

As a Cowboy fan, I agree. Fire Garrett!!

  24. n0hopeleft says: Jan 4, 2012 10:19 PM

Wait til they double him and 72, 91, and 99 go off.

All the haters for the last 17 weeks forgot that PASS RUSH ruins games for teams like yours in January.

  25. dominicthedonkey says: Jan 4, 2012 10:37 PM

He’s good…but please child…do not even compare him him to LT yet

    pierre-paul is crazy athletic… 6’5 280, 4.64 40 time

Wake up. Giants suck… GO COLTS !!!!! Next yeay baby….

  28. steelersownyou says: Jan 5, 2012 7:04 AM

im a steelers fan and have watched this guy & knowing great defense, I would love this guy on my team. He’s my pick for dpoy…All you nfc teams are put on notice. The giants are a team to be reckoned with. They actually have a good defense. Along with 49ers. Rest of nfc D is soft. Giants are my darkhorse pick. Watch out….

  29. grilledjesus says: Jan 5, 2012 9:27 AM

Those G-Men can sure pick themselves some DEs. Wasn’t this guy supposed to be a “project”? I don’t even want to imagine what he’ll be like in a few years.
