Terrell Suggs made his case for Defensive Player of the Year earlier this week. He also did on the field over the last month.

Suggs won the AFC Defensive Player of the Month award after recording five sacks and forcing four fumbles in his final five games of the season.

Tom Brady got the offensive award for his quietly outstanding finish to the season. While Drew Brees lit up the scoreboard in New Orleans, Brady threw for 1,608 yards and 11 scores in his last five games. He also won the award in November.

So Brady broke Dan Marino’s passing yards record, led his team to a 13-3 record despite an awful defense, and was second in the league in yards-per-attempt. That would win him an MVP most years, but this year he’s not even in the discussion.

Matt Prater won the AFC special teams award. Jesus approves.
