The main criteria for Patriots offensive coordinator is your comfort level with Brady. No one is going to revolutionize an offense that has been in place for a decade. If your play calling is suspect, Brady will audible out. The O-line and RB coach have been there forever, plus Ferenz has done an excellent job as TE coach, developing Hernandez and Gronkowski. Other than keep Brady happy, there’s not much to do.

That’s not how things work in the NFL and none of the teams are that petty. Bottom line: If the new coach doesn’t want him on his staff he’s gone – plain and simple. If they even tried that tactic #1 it would be a huge distraction for the new coaching regime; #2 you’re gonna pay a football guy over $1M a year to shuffle papers out in a trailer in the back parking lot? I’m sure he won’t be disgruntled and won’t be a distraction. #3; No assistant coach worth his salt would even consider going to the Rams as long as that regime was in charge who pulled that stunt.

-he designed that record setting offense of the Pats in ’07
-Denver was stupid to give him personnel authority, which he wouldn’t have in NE or KC
-no coordinator can overcome 3/5ths of the starting OL on IR; a dinged up QB; a dinged up RB; no viable TEs; and only 1 NFL caliber WR that they had to trade for after 4 weeks of the season had gone by

it’s obvious that a lot of people in the NFL still highly regard McDaniels as an offensive coordinator.

i’d love to have him KC to reunite with Cassel. amazing what happens when Cassel has a legit play-caller and coordinator in the house, as his 48 TD to 11 INTs and 89 and 93 QB Ratings show in ’08 and ’10.

Josh Mcdaniels failed to score with Stephen Jackson, Sam Bradford, and Brandon LLoyd on there roster for most of the season. The GM drafter no premier offensinve lineman and overrated players like Kendricks who has problems with drops in college, funny how it could carry over to the pros… St. Louis needs to clean house, top to bottom with the GM, Spagnolo and Mcdaniels unemployed for at least a year as punishment for what they put the Ram fans through. Remember plenty of people picked the Rams to win the division. 2 wins later and these guys are top commodites for coordinator jobs, what a joke.

Actually, not a bad idea to keep him from going back to the Patriots or working for the Chiefs if Romeo gets the head job.

Really, the only way out for him from under his Rams contract is to get a head job, and I don’t think that is going to happen.

Rams could “ice” him under the terms of their deal, and it would be in their favor to do so.
