Tice only did a good job on offense when he had Randy Moss. They have nobody at WR to make Tice look good. As a Lions fan this is great news! Looks like Detroit and Greenbay will be fighting it out for the next 10 years! Minnesota and Chicago will be the AZ and Seattle of the division…lol

Either there will be a “Devin Ratio”, “Matt Ratio” or they’ll bring Moss out of retirement to re-create the amazing “Randy Ratio” from his stint with the Vikes.

They have to get a passing coordinator? Offensive coordinator by committee. I am sure that will work out greeeeeaaat.

When Tice was in MN, Red wouldn’t pay for an OC to replace Linehan, so Steve Loney had to be both offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. I have to think Tice had a lot of input into calling plays that year.

You know, some days its really tough being a Bears fan.

But in reality I dont think they were going to have many choices when it came to O.C. Much like when we got stuck with martz. No decent O.C. was going to come in the Chicago with only a 1 year shot.
The GM I think will be fine because even the good GM’s would put up with somebody else’s head coach for 1 year. Simply because if he doesn’t get you everything you want, fire him the next year and bring in all the people you want.

This is a good move for Chicago. Tice would have been a great HC in MN if cheap ass McCombs would have spent more money on a legitimate NFL staff to surround him. Go Tice!

At one point they did have the 1969 Ed Thorp Memorial NFL Champtionship trophy in their trophy case, but, they lost it. Not sure we can trust them with another one. Not there’s much risk of that…

Tice’s son Nate is a senior QB at Wisconsin and always had the headphones on. He was the last one to speak to Russell Wilson prior to Wilson running onto the field. Maybe he’ll be the passing game guru while the old man handles the running game.

Tice did a pretty good job in Minnesota considering the ownership. Red McCombs was incredibly cheap. McCombs wouldn’t even allow Tice to hire a full complement of coaches.

Tice knows offence…good hire…just pay him enough so he doesn’t have to scalp tickets to make ends meet.

he would still be a head coach if he wouldnt have called out Chrissy Hovan on national TV. Hovan then stabbed back by exposing the ticket scalping. (which btw was done by everyone in the league)

the guy is a football coach. plain and simple.
