Falcons will face Giants without best cornerback

Brent Grimes, Robert Meachem AP

The Falcons got an unwelcome surprise Sunday morning.

Their best cornerback, Brent Grimes, will not be available to face the Giants. Grimes is Atlanta’s best cornerback (Sorry Dunta Robinson) and he was widely expected to return to the lineup this week after missing four of the previous five games.

Grimes said he could have played last week and only sat out practice as a “precaution.” The Falcons will have to stop Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks at less than full strength.  Dominique Franks will start for Atlanta.

Also out for Atlanta: special teamer Kerry Meier and linebacker Stephen Nicholas.

The Giants don’t have any surprises on their list. They are as healthy as they have been in months.

No excuses. We need to win or be gracious in losing.

giants blow, eli manning is a choke artist aside from the fluke 07 run, giants will get it handed to them just like vs the panthers and eagles in recent years.

The Giants have two big mismatches on the field today. Their WR’s against the Falcons corners and their DE’s against Atlanta’s offensive tackles.

Atlanta’s run game is the key to neutralizing these two key areas. Keep Eli off the field and create favorable down and distance passing plays for Matt Ryan.

Luckily for the Falcons, they have nothing behind their D-Line to stop them, either. I see over 70 scored in this game between the two teams.

I’m sure the dolphins would pray for a “fluke” SB win as you call it.

And yes Eli Manning is a choke artist – 19 4th quarter comebacks for the choke artist.

Please go back to finding out what new crappy coach your team is going to hire.

    Falcon fans aren’t worried.

Read here a couple of days ago, Coughlin has never won a Giants playoff game in his own stadium.

He still hasn’t recovered from the ass-whooping the Saints put on him. J. Graham td was the BEST! Typical overrated falcon player, doesn’t show up for a big game.

No problem, we will go find our new head coach. enjoy your overrated 90 year old coach tom coughlin, who each year leads a team that falls apart in the 2nd half. luckily, the giants can get their way into the postseason with poor records of 8-8 and 9-7 occasionally. one and done for the giants.
